I got the signal, let's break this down:
For question one, I think you might be giving her too much credit with the idea that she would do anything subtly, that involves a level of nuance and intelligence that quite frankly, I'm yet to see from the grammatically challenged professional editor. I believe the latter that she says injects herself into the topic du jour and when she is called on it, you are harassing her and she must twist the situation to fit her narrative no matter what. The problem for her (and what drives everyone nuts about her, I'm on the liberal side of the political spectrum and I'm obviously not a fan of hers) is that she wants to virtue signal more than get the correct facts. These are the people, from both sides of the political spectrum, that are the most infuriating and dangerous as they don't want facts to get in the way of a good story and they are ALWAYS on the right side of the story.
In regards to question two, Narcissism is a personality disorder. The assessment doesn't change as her problem is that she thinks that people MUST be clamoring for her thoughts on every topic, knowledge be damned. So to me, it doesn't change the assessment. Her problem is an overestimate/lack of understanding of her self-worth in the public arena, which is also a symptom of narcissism. For those who have not read the full thread, here is my breakdown a thousand pages ago:
