Clone Wars is ok, definitely not fantastic. About half the episodes are downright skippable.

Is it necessary, or at least helpful, to watch Clone Wars in its entirety before watching Rebels?

I watched a few seasons of Clone Wars when it was on Netflix (I think it was Netflix) a couple years ago but had to stop when it was pulled from their catalog, and tried to pick up where I thought I left off when I got Disney+. I think I got through most of Season 3. There a lot of episodes to go, though, and I'm having a little trouble getting motivated to start watching again.

Clone wars got a lot better as time went on. You don’t really need to have seen it all for Rebels. Since it’s Star Wars there’s a bunch of cameos and characters from other shows and movies, but other than Ahsoka and a few named clones they’re not important. At least from what I can remember.

I'm struggling through it now. I've started skipping some episodes that seem stupid to ease the burden.

Disney+ has some “essential” episodes category for Clone Wars you can check.

Plan on wrapping this up later today. Sounds like it might be a bit of a letdown but it would have to be really bad for me to not like this show. I almost bought a coffee mug with the Bad Batch 99 symbol/logo on it when at Galaxys Edge last week. For $20 or whatever it was I just didn't want to try to lug it back. I did bring back an empty $6 Diet Coke that looks like a thermal detonator.

I thought it was a pretty good finale overall. Pretty well written series and sets up well for next season.

The finale was the weakest episode of the 16 by a wide margin.

Finally got through the Rebels series yesterday. I really enjoyed the ride and thought they wrapped it up really well. Going to dive into Clone Wars by this weekend and I know there is a lot there to unpack. I went back to read this and was disappointed by your review shakes. Did you ever finish the series and if so was there a pay off worth the effort?

So far I am about 7 episodes into Clones. I realize that the cartoons are much older than Rebels but the animation takes a little getting used to. I find the news reel old timey voice guy at the beginning of each episode a little unnecessary and silly. I know it's early but just finding it ok thus far.

Season two kicking off just after New Years. Looks pretty great, I'm going to have to go back and rewatch first season.

I've been re-watching season one and it has been really good. Season 2 kicks off January 4th, 2023

Caught first two episodes of season 2 this morning. Pretty enjoyable but I’m trying not to watch too much as I’d rather catch a few in a row and they only come out weekly.

Yep. I waited for Better Call Saul's 2nd to last episode to air before I started watching the last season.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 3 premieres on Feb. 21, 2024, on Disney Plus. Season 3 features 15 episodes, with the final airing on May 1, 2024, just a few days before the annual May the 4th celebrations, where we’ll almost certainly get news of yet more Star Wars TV shows.

I'll likely go back and start re-watching Season 2 in the next week or so.

Watching the last episode of the series. Disney fucks a lot of things up but this cartoon series has been very well done. Great animation and good characters. I’d love to see this team show up in a movie or series sometime. Actually really sad to see it go, it’s been my favorite show to watch this year.
