from the rest of the prisoners. Does seem like a setup. Dude should get a new lawyer and try to get his sentence reduced.

Of course it was a setup. It's not a coincidence they put his sister's rapist in his cell and then repeatedly ignored him. They knew that he would do what nearly every man on the planet would do.

It seems like equating committing murder in cold blood with being a man might contribute to some of our larger societal woes.

It's worth looking at emails and texts to see if they were dumb enough to give proof it was done on purpose

I have a neighbor who works in the prison system. This very likely was intentional. They look the other way, set up encounters... shit like that. It happens and it probably happened here. That don't excuse murder though. Just cause I leave out eggs and cinnamon and bread don't mean you have to make French toast.

On one level I agree with you, but it's clear that the prison set this guy up and someone or a group in prison administration need a chunk of his new 25. If the jackass was bragging about it, he provoked it, which should be a mitigating factor.

I'm going to climb out on a limb and say most people in prison aren't there because they have great self control. They knew that at best he would assault the man.

You give these guys the years but you give them pretty lavish digs in jail. A nicer mattress, access to television, more free time, better food, no cellmate (do they even have cellmates in prison?)...but the tradeoff is he pretty much never gets out and has to kill these pedo's and child rapists that come in the door. Not all of them, but the ones that really need to be dispatched from our mortal world.

Clearly he has no issues taking a life, which means he cannot be in our normal society, but he should be accommodated within the system to ply his craft safely. There's a way to make this work for everyone.

christopher scarver got 2 life sentences tacked onto his prison sentence for killing jeffrey dahmer. if that guy wasn't getting out for doing a service, nobody will.

The only reason he was in prison to begin with is because the cars he stole and smashed belonged to the police. If they were yours and mine he would have been handed a suspended sentence.

Prosecutor charged 1st degree, Goldsby pleaded to 2nd degree. Seems like a good lawyer could've gotten the charge
down to a manslaughter plea. That's what the father who shot his son's molester in the airport ended up pleading to -- with a suspended sentence to boot.

Goldsby's sister was underage at the time of the assault. Must've been really underage, cuz she's still referred to as being a minor after the killing.

He did a public service.

I also think he was very restrained in his effort to kill him. WWIII would've happened had it been me, and that other guy raped my sister.

It's disgusting to me that we accept assaults as part of prison life.

I assume they could be stopped if society didn't see it as the unspoken part of your sentence for a crime.
