Taking 2-3 weeks off. Not playing this week, out of town all next week and may not get back out until August 21st. That will likely put a good sized dent in my goal to reach the most rounds but my body is really starting to wear out and I played three days in a row last week ( Fri-Sun ) and really takes a toll on me mentally and physically. Work is calling everyone back into the office full time in two weeks as well. I really enjoy getting out one morning a week to play and am done by 9am so I think my boss will continue to let me do that if I want but not sure I want to push my luck.

Yeah I have never run into Dave. Been invited to a few outings this year but have turned them down. I went to one last year to play the local country club and it was fun enough but almost 6 hour golf round and then dinner afterwards is like torture to me. I'd rather get my 3hr round in early and move on during the weekend.

I holed out from about 80yds on Monday for my first ever eagle on a par 4.

Without that eagle I’d have probably shot a 96 instead of a stellar 92.

That's pretty cool. I've chipped/pitched in several times, but never holed out on a full swing like that.

105 this weekend at Prairie Vista in Bloomington. Topped most drives again. Hit a few irons well, but shanked a few others. It was pretty brutal. The short game overall was very good. Only one 3 putt, and chipped/pitched a few to within tap in distance. Did not hit a single GIR nor did I have any pars. Pretty sucky. The heat and humidity definitely took its toll on all of us as the round went out. Course was challenging but fair, in good shape, and we all had fun.

I haven't played regularly this season, even though I have a weekday membership. Last time I played in NC was in early June. Bad mix of travel, weekday rain, the occasional work obligation, and greens punching. I have another three week stretch without a chance to play coming up next week.

But then I'm hoping that the weather straightens out and I can play two weekdays a week through Thanksgiving.

First round of the club championship today. I am in 2nd place in A-Flight with a 79. Bad news is some dude shot 73. Missed 2 short putts but otherwise played well. I'll be paired with the leader tomorrow. Hopefully I can make a run.

Son and I played Willis Case in Denver. Pretty nice track for a city course.

2nd time out this year and it showed, big time. Dad 105 Son 100. Some nice trash talking from the boy after the round.

I'm of the mind set that even if you "win", you can't talk shit unless you score double digits.

He's 14. I'm good with it.

Prairie Vista is a pretty cool course. I like that place.

My goal going into the weekend was to not embarrass myself after not playing competitive golf for a few years. 79-81 and 4th place...mission accomplished!

Back on the grass this morning after more than 2 weeks off. Should be some rust. Playing the short course with very tricky greens. Good show at Disney but happy to be back home.

Nice job Franky. They played the county open up here when I was out of town. The winner shot -9 after 3 rounds  Between having to shoot personal records everyday and 5+ hour rounds I think my competitive golf days are all but done except an occasional scramble

I should clarify....4th place in the A Flight lol. Pace of play wasn't bad at 4 hour rounds. A typical round at my club is about 3.5 hours.

They set it up this year so that the Championship Flight "final four" played an additional 18 holes. It was four young guys who all played college golf. It was really fun to watch. One of them hits moon shots. He was hitting irons off the blue tees to spots where I hit my driver from the whites. They play a different game.

No clarification needed. You played solid and should be proud. Yes it was all college kids up here as well I believe.

72 this morning with 5 birdies along with two 3 putts inside 3 feet. I was really surprised I was able to shoot that well. Got up and down 4 out of 5 times scrambling which was a huge help.
Beautiful morning to play with a bit of fog early but got a bit sticky later on.

Nicely done. 100% humidity this morning, so you’re effectively indestructible.

Yeah it was muggy as hell out there last night and this morning.

Nice showing in your tourny, Franky.

My game is shit right now, and I've played very little golf since early July. Hopefully will get out there for next weekend.

I played Saturday and did well enough for the first six holes or so, only to have wheels completely fall off by round's end. So much so that I stopped keeping score (probably would have been 110-115ish) and didn't count the last two penalties. Wasn't much fun, which is really the shame of it all.

I've only played twice since 8/1 and am scheduled to play early morning Labor Day. I have pretty low expectations. My mom decided to come and visit in October and the weekend falls on the
weekend of my big scramble tournament that I usually play in with my buddies. I had to back out of that so a bit bummed. We took 2nd last year. Anyway I am seriously considering just hanging it up early this season and focusing on a few other things like home projects and getting to the gym. I can likely squeeze out 15 more rounds this year if I keep going but just not sure I have da fire and da passion to git er done. My round on Labor Day gets me to 50 even for the year.
