The excitement about this team is electric! Ross only got 1 question in his post game press conference.

Sutcliffe said Ross is high on Michael Hermosillo (187 288 308 596). Ross wants a good look at him. Sutcliffe will be a goldmine of humorous comments during the tanking.

Bubic got something going against the Iowa Cubs here!

If the Cubs lose today it will tie their longest home streak from '94 at 12.

The Cubs were slight favorites the last 2 days. Another reminder that there’s money to be made betting against this AA team the rest of the way.

I wonder what it would’ve taken to trade for Merrifield and fill that lead-off spot. Too much for Theo I guess.

I was there until the rain came and Ross waved the white flag by putting Rucker in to pitch, fortunately the storm faded and there wasn't any lightning while I was waiting for the 152 back to the Blue Line to Rosemont.

A truly shitty performance by every hitter not named Schwindel or Wisdom. Bubic is their version of Alzolay (Singer is the top prospect starter). I thought that Thompson did fine for his first big league start (4 IP, 2 R) but the Royals were waiting him out and making him throw a lot of pitches on a muggy day.

Merrifield's grounder in the second... Bote should have gotten to that one, both Alcantara and Hoerner make that play. And why the fuck is Duffy playing SS??

Someone needs to start a 2021 game thread. This team no longer deserves a series thread.

I wasn't. I was invited back in May by a friend of mine who gets excess season tickets at a discount from friends of his. A couple of Gatorades and a pretzel and a $5 CTA pass wasn't much of an outlay on my part.

Hard to believe the last Cubs win at home was Baez’s sac fly off Emir Garrett, which seems like months ago.

Sutcliffe could be the biggest bs artist in Chicago sports media ever. He actually said "The Cubs have a lot of talent. And there's a lot of time left for good things to happen."

He's a bigger homer than Hawk.

Pretty good crowd. Only way I'd go is if transportation, tickets, food were free. And could leave early. If they lose today 13 home losses in a row... a team record. Now 6th worst winning % overall. Boog actually analyzing JH talking about his aggressiveness compared to last year. Made no sense. Then he got cut off.

I went yesterday. Transportation and tickets were free. Food was not. It was atrocious. How do you screw up a pretzel and a hot dog?

Going to the game is still a good time but my goodness, does that neighborhood around the ballpark lose more of its character every time I return. One nondescipt chain type bar and grill after another.

I had the presence of mind to stop at the Byron's on Irving Park before the game. Better food than the ballpark and the approach walking south on Sheffield avoids all the large buildings across from the park.

mcdonalds is better than food at wrigley. It is noticeably bad.

When I went early in the season (when they were limited to 25% capacity), it was horrible. They didn't have the independent stands open so you were forced to use the regular food counters where the hot dogs had been sitting for hours. And it goes with out saying the prices are obscene, but that's the same everywhere. If you're going to bend me over, at least give me quality.
