Strong vote for Galena or going up to Door County.

Happy anniversary Spaulding and Mr. Spaulding.

Galena is very nice in about a month or so when the fall weather starts to creep in. Summer was fun too with a kayak trip on the fever river a few years back when my wife and I went. We had our 20th last year and it was pretty low key due to everything being closed. With the kids getting older its becoming easier to get away for those short trips.

I'd never heard of the place. It looks fun. Is the food any good or do you just go for the show?

I don't think burlesque would get me going. It seems like the same kind of crowd for that show that went to The Baton, people role playing how wild they are before going home to the subdivision.

while we are on the topic of dinner and a show, I've always wanted to try Hala Kahiki on River Road. Looks like fun in a cultural appropriation kind of way

I've never eaten there. Most of the times I've been there I've been hammered after Wine Week at Smith & Wollensky. There are a couple cool bars in there.

Hala Kahiki does not serve food other than pretzels. Not my favorite tiki bar but it's stood the test of time. They used to have a bunch of hot Polish waitresses. I didn't see any the last time I was there.

FWIW, both Galena and Door County can be difficult to book during "leaf season".

That tiki bar is so out of place and kitschy that it's great! I hope it's still there when my Daughter turns 21.

Happy Anniversary.

Go to Napa/Sonoma. Can probably find some nice B&Bs there.

20 years? You really were a child bride, weren't you?

24 isn't that young.

Thanks all!

Galena is trash and anyone who suggested Galena is trash too. If Cooper’s Hawk was a town, it’d be Galena. But hey, if you like Cooper’s Hawk give it a try.

I went to college in Dubuque. I’d rather spend the weekend in East Dubuque than Galena.
