Either the acoustics here are shit or the guy running the board is shit or both.
Only my second time here and the first time was a concert I hated so much I didn't really notice if it was bad acoustics.

Well I'm in the pavilion. I think 8ts the sound guy honestly. But I get it's hard to get sound right in a large open air garage and a lawn on a hill.

That place has always sucked for various reasons.

If you’re not at least in the pavilion single-letter rows, it’s gonna sound like shit.

Went twice. Torrential downpour for one and froze my ass off for the other. I can’t recall the sound quality.

You are correct. It’s always been bad if you’re not up close. Very bass-y and muddled sound. Hard to believe there was an acoustical engineer involved in the design.

I’ve been there many times for various shows and the one common denominator is the sound sucks. Alpine Valley always has sounded way better than the World. That said, I have had some mighty fun times at the World a lifetime ago when I was young and stupid.

I was there for that one. I recall the rain and lights being awesome but I was also enjoying a few concert enhancers that evening. I went both nights and even saw Dennis Miller in the concession line.

if you want the best practicable sound at such a venue, get seats close to the booth?

Surprised anyone would bother trucking to Tinley Park to hear a cover band play Ants Marching and Crash when the Trippin' Billies play all over the area non-stop

I had a whole presentation prepared but it's not really necessary. DMB blows thus anyone that would waste their time covering them blows x2.

What's with the tip pressuring at all the food and beverage places in the venue? Live nation should pay their employees better and stop looking for customers to chip in when it's not a tip worthy service.

Probably would have enjoyed that concert more but no, I accompanied my future wife to a Depeche Mode concert there in summer of 94. Stabbing westward and Primal scream the openers. The monsoon was mostly during the opening part of the show if my memory serves. At least it was in June.
