You're trying too hard to talk shit to fans who already think their team sucks. He's not even a Cub anymore, who cares. Leave the trolling to people who know what they're doing like gd.

probably not a well thought out idea to eliminate the possibility of a contract offer from a big market team one month before free agency

I'm sure he'll win them over with one of his tags that no one else in the world could possibly make

I've said for years Baez was overrated. So glad the Cubs got something for him, he's toast. Look at what happened to guys like Rob Deer once they lost their bat speed and started guessing full time.

He could be a defensive specialist if he made the routine plays as well as the spectacular ones he always does, but I don't give that much chance....

I assume he's headed to the AL where he can hit nine for some team.

The eyeroll would be deserved for anyone who would take Baez over Anderson at this point, or at any point over the last 2-3 seasons.

That should be good for half the $200M he believes that he is worth.

It is just typical for a thread wholly about Baez to have Ogie come puff out his Sox chest at the first moment in the last what, decade, where they are good?

Yes Anderson is better now. He has been a pleasant surprise, while Baez has gotten much worse.

No he was not always the lesser shortstop. But we have been thru this before.

Your response is just to bring up a bunch of things that are team based rather than individual based and then a single MVP vote that on retrospect was completely undeserved.

So what you’re saying is that Anderson’s individual play is more important to you in your trolling effort than your team’s play? Got it.

223 strikeouts
24 walks.

The players are the same age, and Baez has a higher WAR by a decent amount. Frank’s point still stands. But my belief is Baez had a better career up until now both individually and team wise.

That's exactly the same thing I first thought.

Baez and Wilson Contrearas believe giving full effort doesn't include working on any flaws in the off season

Baez just predetermines his swing and tries to pull everything. It seems like a simple fix, but then again, Rizzo just kept hitting it to the second baseman standing in right field. I mean, let’s stand on top of the plate to all but assure I will pull the ball into a shift…..

Zero adjustment.

I mean if you want to talk about playoff performance, TA has a 1.429 playoff OPS. It would've been nice if Ricky wasn't a moron managing last year's squad as TA would've carried them.

You would think when a guy claims strikeouts make him "feel bad" he would shorten his swing sometimes and not try and hit the HR EVERY FUCKING TIME!

The pressure of the future contract and not being able to watch video between at bats has gotten the best of Baez.

That's my problem with all the Cub "stars". After 2016 they all said, fuck it and acted like it was a big party in Wrigleyville. Contrares even admitted to it in 2019.

Don't forget the empty stands also contributed to his awful seasons. No one in the stands to inflate his ego ruined his career.

I suspect that he was cheating in some way with the video stuff.

He was doing something with video up until last season. He's been mostly bad since the start of last year.

Ok. I thought maybe it was a childish approach to hitting. The MLB as a whole and specifically Javy totally dismisses situational hitting and it's fucking up this game I love.

Not MLB as a whole. A lot of guys yes, but there are at least three regulars in the White Sox lineup That Thrive in situational hitting.
