There should be some kind of base line for being able to pronounce yourself a writer in the present world, especially when using at as an appeal to authority...something like, if you can't feed your family on the money you make writing, you don't get to use the title "writer". That would weed out theses chumps who get "published" on a website only because it needs content and no other poster is willing to do the work...and Sam Fells.

i understand, but it's more than just her and how her and others take themselves so seriously as experts and activists. they are more activist than expert.

i called the german consulate and asked about the omission of umlauts in the american print media from words such as münchen or danke schön and the reply was that these days are truly scary for germans, similar to ww1 times. i was also proudly told that umlauts are not necessary when writing unterseeboot.
