Interesting tidbit from the PFT interview. He revealed that John Skipper at ESPN tried to hire them away from Barstool in 2017 but they turned him down. I was told by Brick that the minute ESPN offered them, they'd leave Barstool or at least PFT would. Seems like that was wrong and I honestly can't see that changing. All of the people ESPN throws big money at to come over is disposed of or sees their role reduced the minute they get into a small bit of controversy. Barstool lets them be themselves and it seems PFT values that more than anything. Guys think he isn't a Portnoy or Barstool guy at heart, but it seems he is very loyal to Portnoy and his ability to publicly disagree with him without repercussions is a testament to that fact. Being able to publicly disagree with a boss without fear of retribution is probably one of the reasons PFT says Barstool is the best place he could ever possibly work.

Also interesting to hear about him quitting a $170k a year software sales job without having anything lined up to go full into his career was interesting. It took him years of scraping by freelance work before Barstool offered him. Also not surprised to hear how shitty Deadspin was to him when he tried to work there before Barstool.
