Take it for what its worth, but my sox guy tells me that North is pushing Jerry for the radio job that DJ will turn down soon and he hasnt been told no yet. This wouldnt be North doing a contract with WSCR either, this would be between Mike and Jerry. Odds are slim, but Jerry loves Mike and this is something JR would do if he feels everyone would be against.

after watching him on dontfuckme.com and him looking wasted, I bet he's begging JR for any gig. So if he gets the gig, what's he gonna say about the noncompet clause? Or is this suppose to start next year?

Also, why would JR hire a drunk like this that ADMITTED that he use to come to work mornings hungover. Didn't the Rush get rid of him because they were tired of him coming in drunk?

He would also have to drop that money making website he has if he got the job.

I assume he would close that site down to land that gig, not that he would make huge $$, but it is something that would give him some he graves more then money, attention. My guy said its not likely, just something North is trying to land, like he did before they hired DJ.

I won't listen to a single game if he's in the booth.

How long do you guys think he would last in a job like that before he got launched for saying something completely offensive/racist/whatever?

I think he'd be gone by the All-Star break.

so you are telling us that wscr has no say in who broadcast sox games? if reinsdork hires north it will show who really controls things. i thought mr "i will lead a revolution in web broadcasting" was all set. why sponsers buy into his schtick is beyond me.

Will never happen. WSCR pays too much money for the Sox. Its Reinsdorf's team but he's get'n paid and that over rules all. They could never risk North getting back on the Score and bad mouthing them. I think Score management would "ask" Jerry to not make that hire.

Jerry's smart enough anyway. He has to know better.

Can't compare the two.

I think it'd be interesting to have north as a sideline reporter or pre and post host. However, that kind of work pays 50K and requires more work than a regular shift.

I think the Score holds the cards on who they can hire for the radio gig, unless JR intervenes himself. I remember with the whole John Rooney thing, it was the Score that didn't want to pay him the $$ he asked for (Prolly cuz North's salary took up the whole budget). I hope to God JR leaves the matter to the Score. If he does, Nort has no chance of getting the gig.

It's my understanding that Darrin Jackson might actually go national. D.J. has occasionally done some regional games for FOX Sports, especially when the White Sox have been featured in recent years. Yesterday on "MJH", guest "bartender" Carmen DeFalco said something on a couple of occasions that Darrin might be joining the new MLB Network that will be available in the New Year, and that he could be calling games on a national level. As for "Pappy" joining the Sox broadcasts, NO CHANCE!!!
