The whole Punk thing with him coming out and trying to life mid card guys has a short shelf life. They are gonna have to find him someone viable to work a program with soon or his segments will get old. Interesting that the only home grown people that are even a little bit over are MJF and Britt Baker, both have learned enough about the business to realize doing the old school heel bit will always work.

Guys like Piper couldn't do the rhythmic gymnastic routines that most of the AEW ham and eggers do, but he knew how to create legit heat and actually put together a believable match.

So, IOW, you hate AEW, right? Otherwise, this post wouldn’t be as misinformed and incorrect as it is.

WWE Extreme Rules on tonight; Reigns vs Demon Balor should be the main event.

Where is it wrong? Watch the goofs setting up the spots, guys looking up and waiting 10 seconds, then making sure they are all in position to catch the tumbler as he jumps off the top rope. Gets very tedious to watch high spot after high spot where nobody sells, matches and "talent" all blend together with no discernable reason to care about the participants or the outcome.

The company (still just 2 years old, BTW) as a whole has gradually gotten better with match psychology, save for Bucks & Luchas - hell, even Omega had a spectacular match with Danielson just last Wednesday that was as old school as it gets, including a time-limit draw.

Calling MJF & Britt “the only home grown people that are even a little bit over” is laughable. You gonna tell me Jungle Boy, Orange Cassidy, Darby Allin, Thunder Rosa, Kris Statlander, for example, are not over?

Never said little bit over, said they know how to differentiate themselves from the rest of the ham and eggers by knowing how to create legit heat. Your reply indicates you do not have much experience watching actually pro's work, not surprising, but typical of most AEW's marks.

When the Baron slapped the claw on Bobby Heenan the crowd popped, it wasn't a triple toe loop jump off the top rope, but it was way more over than anything Luke Perry's 5' 2" 150 pound kid does.

Fanboys, Meltzer, and the internet.

He'd be talented if it weren't for all the theatrical bullshit.

Same goes for the Young Bucks.

There is some real talent on the rest of the roster, though...

His matches against Okada cemented it.

I can at least make it through Omega talking segments now because he has Don "Poor Man's Paul Heyman" Callis as a mouthpiece. His old promos were immediate piss break time

You said exactly that, but move those goalposts.

Yes, I am a big AEW fan, because this is about as close to the Attitude ETA as it gets overall. I am (well, up until 3 weeks ago) a fan of NXT as well. The WWE “main roster” stuff has, for the most part, generally sucked for the last 15-20 years.

And yes, I may have gotten in and out of wrestling fandom, but I was watching back in the ‘70s and know exactly what you are talking about. Still remember the Bob Luce auto commercials, Pepper Gomez’ “The Man with the Cast Iron Stomach” gimmick, which culminated with his gut getting “rolled onto” by a VW Bug, etc. Of course, that was 50-ish years ago, so I guess maybe I’m just not into yelling at clouds as much as you. I can appreciate some of the new-school stuff along with the old school.

Hard to take the petite guys seriously, I mean we are supposed to suspend disbelief and actually think we are watching an actual athletic contest, and when the dudes are all 5' 5" rhythmic gymnasts, it's not sustainable or believable.

They used to say Flair could have a match with a broomstick and make it look good...Flair in his prime would have a tough time putting on a good match with many of these indie guys because they just go from high spot to high spot with nothing in between and sell nothing. As Flair used to always say a good heel has to be willing to sell and take bumps in the ring in order to make the face look legit, otherwise there is no reason to care either way about the participants. Reading stuff about Khan taking over creative, as the company matures it will likely get back to more of the proven pro wrestling concepts that have repeatedly cycled through over the past hundred years.

The Bucks look like a couple of 150 pound geeks, cant take them seriously as pro wrestlers. Not a fan of Omega but at least he has enough size to look legit.

Favorite episode of the series is on Herb Abrams.

That had to be the most Brock spoke in a decade.

It was enjoyable.

Him calling Sami "Kid" was outstanding.

I like when he called him Sami, then asked him again to make sure that was his name. It would be very Brock to not know it before he went out there.

Rumor going around on the dirt sheet sites. Starting to pop up on some of the more reputable ones that Vince is looking to sell and the person who is heading the buying group is The Rock himself. Be kinda interesting esp with people now coming out talking about that Shanes' 10 years away from the company was not as amicable as has been told. Lot more people coming out and shitting on Stefp and HHH as well. Not just fringe guys but people who have been in buis for long time.Like Chioda and Flair.

The Rock doesn't have the money to buy them. He would be a figurehead for a group. That being said, does he really have the time to run a wrestling company?

He hasn’t even flipped the switch on the XFL, yet.

Right now, Comcast is the front-runner. This speculation the WWE may be up for sale is nothing new, either - this has been speculated for months, especially after hiring hatchet man Nick Khan, and cutting a ton of roster talent and behind-the-scenes people.

Adam Cole looks like to be about 5'7" and about 150 lbs...really hard to suspend disbelief with some of the AEW guys, I mean the only way he would have a chance in a fight is if some of his hair product got in your eyes. A guy you would only see in the cardio area at the gym, never with the guys slinging real weight in free weight area.

Watching a bit of a recent match and a bunch of little guys that looked all to be 180 bench press max guys all were in the ring doing something I would imagine you would see if a fight broke out amongst a bunch of male Starbucks employees.

For pro wrestling to work you either have to believe the guys are bigger and stronger than most, believe the guys are better legit wrestlers than most, or believe the guys are tougher and better street fighters than most, none of that applies to anything I have ever seen from this guy in the few AEW spots I have seen.
