just another example of how a lot of bears fans never understood the SNL skit was ripping on them. As if all bears players ever and forever grew up in chicago or the suburbs and trained ROCKY III style in the winter months with tree logs and shoveling endless snow, and not reality that theyre coming from everywhere having played college in places most assuredly not Chicago or its damn winters.

Heard someone on the radio today say the Bears 5B will only get them a stadium that covers the seats and not the field. No dome.

Bears weather lives!

It's like Jerry Jones dismantled Cowboys Stadium and is going to sell it to the Bears, a la Six Flags moving rides (Iron Wolf to Mexico  ).

Maybe the McCaskeys aren't selling after all.

I hated the Iron Wolf and Shockwave. Miss the Power Dive.

I thought so too and then remembered we are talking about the BEARS.

Apologies. I should have paid closer attention when Bart was caught in the lion cage at the zoo and found his escape via roman numerals.

or, used google.

You're mixing your Boers & Bernstein rants up. Bill Swerski's Superfans had nothing to do with Bear Weather, the joke was just that they picked the Bears to win by lopsided scores. And besides it's not like it was some blistering attack on Chicago sports fans that was meant to educate us, Robert Smigel and those guys just did Second City here and thought it'd be funny. They could have done it about the Packers, but Green Bay doesn't have an improv scene.

in the 70's, i believe the national media kept throwing logs into this fire. everyone 'dreads' a late dec. playoff trip to minn-st. paul/lambeau/chicago. the weather played right into 70's football of 17-13 games. the packers and bears were shit and would never host a playoff game - even if they made the playoffs..so, it was all about minn-st. paul.

nbc guys used to tell us that shula's dolphins and madden's raiders better have home field over pitt and baltimore.

it may not have been directly associated with Bear Weather and was the ditka obsession, ridiculous score predictions, but that skit has been co-opted by morons born post SB victory as a fucking personality trait and meathead Bears thoughts - Bear Weather included.
