I think the Detroit pizza I know of is Jets. That was okay when we were out of town, I don't think I'd order it regularly. Sauce should always be under cheese though.

Chicago always seems doughy or undercooked. I still get a taste for it once or twice a year. Nancy's has a slimmer one that does okay.

It's hard to make pizza bad with meat, cheese, dough, and sauce. It's when they start adding weird shit that pizzas become bad. Jet's is perfectly acceptable as cheap pizza.

Jet's is ok for 2 slices and a 20 oz Diet Pepsi for $6 for lunch once every couple of months. There's one on 75th/Lemont next to the discount dry cleaners.

Cincinnati basic 2-way chili mac is just deconstructed pasticcio. Putting beans in it or a bad hot dog on it is a crime against humanity.

Pizza is such a world wide food now, you can get decent pizza in any cosmopolitan city. The one Chicago delicacy that I never see in another place (and a lot of places locally don't get right, frankly) is the Italian beef sandwich.

There’s a place by us that jumped on the Detroit Style Pizza train and theirs is actually pretty good, but so is all their stuff.

I assume Chicago style = a giordano’s style deep dish. But I’d think it’s better in peaquod’s type pan pizza. Similar concept, better execution.
