I've never seen my dad without a mustache and I don't think he has honked in 45 years. I have to ask him that.

Is there some sort of no honk club?

I hope so. I've not honked in... 10 years? Not too shabby.

My wife makes this dip (not in a ball) and it tends to go pretty quickly at parties.

I've never seen it either. I always thought it was along the lines of military rations.

Grandma died before I was born but we spent a lot of time with uncle and aunt growing up at famarties. Perhaps it didn’t travel further southwest with them as they moved to be Uncle Terry’s neighbor. Just figured one of the 8 billion cousins of my mom from that family would of brought it to one get together or another in the 80s. It’s possible I’ve seen my dad eat some sort of chipped beef dish in Iowa on one of our trips out there. He eats prettt much anything.

Chipped beef in general never appealed to me. Some weird spread with it? Actually sounds like more a food I’d find at my in laws or that my wife would mention from her childhood.

Chipped beef on toast was a staple growing up. Budding beef in pieces with cream of mushroom soup over toast. Shit on a shingle was the nickname. Loved it.

Buddig beef looks like one of those things old timey English peasants would eat.

I agree with ya. I don't touch the stuff. But the way it goes at parties, MANY seem to like it.

People have their own tastes and all I’m not one to begrudge people theirs. But that reminds me a bit too much of the ham salad/sandwich spread that I had to make at the Eagle back in the day. Hell, we might of made a chipped beef spread too but I’ve blocked that out (or it came pre packaged). Either way, more for then people who like it I guess because no competition from me is forthcoming.

Eaglo Stores didn't last long.

The Buddig beef dip may have last longer actually.
