only time I drank coffee was in a 24 hour parisian cafe. I had gone to the Mellencamp show and missed the last train of the day back to Rome. The next train left at something like 6 in the morning. It made no sense to waste money to get a room even though I was exhausted. I drank coffee and smoked a cigarette to stay awake. Place got weird around 2 am.

Boyd with two solid points. Speedway tends to have pretty good coffee in the AM as its mostly fresh. MANY times on my way to an early round of golf, I will stop at there for my morning fix.

Wendy's is also underrated for coffee.

I signed up for the Panera unlimited coffee subscription this summer ($8.99 a month, first three months free). I prefer their dark blend, black with a little ice. If I'm dawdling the second cup will be half dark roast and half hazlenut. Thornton's Gas Stations usually have a decent blend in the morning as well.

I had a good friend who said a few things that made the idea of cocaine absurd to me in the eighties. Knowing what I know about dealers I never would consider ecstasy or other drugs. Hell, I watched a smoker get knocked on his ass after hitting some hydro in the nineties and never considered trying it.
