I started going right when they opened and you could get a whole meal for about $5-6 incl. chips and drink.

Now it's like $12 or more.

But, it is the best sandwich shop I've been to in recent memory. Not quite up to Perry's Deli in my experience but it's a different kind of sandwich and not an apples to apples comparison.

Very true...$15 bucks for a sandwich and bag of chips today.

Correct, the “s” is possessive in the restaurant’s name. My bad.

I miss Perry’s….that place was awesome.

Agreed. One of the few places that I took home leftovers from when I was in my twenties to boot.

That's Dr. Ken Jr. II's favorite restaurant.

You smell like that place for the rest of the day.

Will probably go again. They do a terrible job explaining how much food you are actually going to get. Went with the office and got the all you can eat. I thought they were bringing out a catering tray when they came to our table.

They let you bring the seasoned oil home if you ask.

It's good to make noodles at home or any type of simmered food.

I had a raclette sandwich from the Daley Center farmer's market for the first time. Very good when it gets cooler like this. I'm not sure I'd like it as much in the middle of the summer

I roasted a large bag of shishito peppers from my CSA subscription from a local farm. Nothing fancy, just olive oil, salt, pepper, and some Trader Joe's 21 Seasoning Salute mix. Ate about a quarter of them with some leftover Costco rotisserie chicken and refrigerated the rest of the peppers (and will freeze them momentarily).

In what will likely be a mistake, I am going to stop by my local Culvers today to have the one day only CurderBurger. Essentially a hamburger with a cheese curd patty on it. I just want to see what
it will be like.

Would never get one only because I could never live with myself if the phrase "I'll have one CurderBurger, please" passed my lips.

Good luck. I'm interested, I guess, in hearing how this goes.

From the looks of it, it seems too rich/gluttonous for even a guy like me. I would rather the burger with mozzarella sticks or curds on the side.

I usually get the ultimate italian beef...beef and provolone on garlic bread with pesto spread.

Just had one. Surprisingly it wasn't all that bad. It's essentially a Deluxe Butter Burger with this thick one piece cheese curd on top. I'd say the negative parts are that after my first bite I looked
down and a big yellow glob of grease came out of the curd, not really appealing. Also as you eat the sandwich the curd pretty much begins to fall apart so it's sort of a messy eat. I guess I am glad
I tried it overall but I don't see this as more than a promotional thing and if they do bring it back I likely wouldn't get it again.

Agreed. The chipotle chicken is good also and the tuna salad sandwich. They use quality ingredients.

I think I'll be heading to Subway again. Why? I don't know. I'm going to be right there and it is convenient.

Yuck. Aren't there at least two or three other "convenient and right there" places?

There's a Mexican place I might go to instead but last time I was there it was pretty bad.

Subway has a floor that I can accept gastronomically. I understand the bargain I'm making with myself when I enter.

A bad Mexican place can hit a much lower base level. But, I might give it another shot.

Might be a good day to give intermittent fasting a try.

Spicy chicken from Silk Road off of LaSalle and Monroe. Noticed that the Burrito Beach next to it has re-opened.

If I could order the burger by typing it out my order on this bored then I'd for sure get it.

I used to work around the corner from there and that was my favorite thing to eat for lunch (along with the original Heaven on Seven).

I'd get that as often as I could. Used to work at 120 S. LaSalle so I was real close if Degenerate Dave was warming up.

Spicy chicken was great. I like to throw some sweet & sour on it to cut the spicy a little. I didn't even think they were still open.

Long time ago, my wife got a full catering tin of it for my birthday party when we still lived in the city.

Taking me back.

Well, damn it, I stand corrected. That is the area. But it isn't Monica's. Never had that.
