Pretty good 1st. Hope it's not one of those played well but didn't score and lost games.

I don't think I like ESPN, something is off.

I don't want to see Gus do anything other than fire lasers on the PP. He stood there on the first goal and damn near allowed another one. I think Borgstrom helped in the first goal two while being completely responsible for the 2nd one. Hawks have had alot of shots but they have almost all been meatballs. .....and there is another one. Can they fire this asshole already?

He should be fired by noon tomorrow.

They probably shouldn’t even let him finish this game.

That audio clip of Toews on the bench trying to rally the troops was hilarious. He said some words positive words but his tone was pure disgust for JC and this effort.

Can honestly say only watched bits and pieces, that is all this team merits at this point, but heard a member to the new ESPN crew actually say, "the Hawks are in disarray", or something like that in the third period, not exactly what you expect to hear when discussing a professional hockey team. The honesty was a breath of fresh air from the grab ass NBC coverage with the overrated Tennessee Tuxedo doing the games (Emrick's voice and cadence always reminded me of the old TV character Tennessee Tuxedo). All that said, to have a teams D completely unstructured in the heavily structured world of NFL defenses is pretty damning of the coaching staff, but isn't the very definition of insanity to keep doing the exact same thing and expect different results?

From the little I can watch I like many do not get the Colliton thing. Even legend Savard got less slack.

Sounds like Ray Ferraro, who's been doing the Leafs and Sens for years and is not one to pull his punches on commentary.

It was Ferraro. He's quite good. Kind of a "regular guy doing commentary" way about him.

Hopefully they will adopt more of a Canadian type broadcast where they call out guys for lack of effort or for being out of position. Usually just turned down volume on the NBC grab ass broadcasts, ever one was a superstar, no one ever got called out for poor play.

He's really good at maintaining a baseline frequency of mildly annoyed that isn't crotchety-old-man. I like him on national games, but I think one of the criticisms Leafs fans have is that they don't have truly local broadcasts: half their games are on the CBC, and TSN produces their regional telecasts as if they're national ones (at least for the three teams out east; they let the Jets do their own thing). Sometimes you just need a little homerism that he can't give you.

Anyway, back on topic, Colliton is the worst coach in the league and he should have been fired immediately after the game.

He's OK, more of a Pat and Dale guy, but that was when Pat was in his prime.

Have to enjoy what's left of Pat, one of the few remaining unique local play by play guys.

Was also back in the day that they simulcast the radio and TV audio so when watching the away games, you always got an excellent pbp experience because of that. I liked that pairing, too. Pat and Ed are getting too “meatball” as time passes.

We didn't have cable when I was in Jr. High, so listened to the games on an old AM clock radio. Remember the Sunday home games especially because there were times where Pat did the games by himself. He was a great radio play by play guy, but there would numerous long periods of silence which I always imagined was him taking a food or drink break.

I used to listen to them on an old transistor radio my dad had that up he used to listen to Lions games on (had a radio when he was a kid and picked up Lions games. Been a long suffering fan since) and loved how good Pat was. For the away games, I’d listen to both the TV and the radio to see how off the audio was. Then my dad would tell me to pick one and stick with it. :)
