JOLIET - A Joliet woman was sentenced this month to spend six years in prison for a fatal DUI crash last year.

Jamie Walsh, 31, pleaded guilty Dec. 7 before Judge Amy Bertani-Tomczak on a charge of aggravated driving under the influence in exchange for having four other counts dismissed.

At 7:21 p.m. on Dec. 26, 2015, Walsh was driving a 1997 Plymouth Neon on Route 171 in Lockport Township when the vehicle was involved in a rollover crash at Nobes Avenue. Walsh was not injured, but her passenger, Joseph O. Essary, 33, was ejected and pinned beneath the vehicle, according to police reports.

CREST HILL, IL — The Will County Coroner's Office said 36-year-old Jamie Walsh of Joliet died Wednesday afternoon after being hit by a car in the 1800 block of Knapp Drive in Crest Hill. Walsh worked at the Southern Cafe restaurant, according to Crest Hill Police Chief Ed Clark.

Walsh was standing near the building when a car crashed through a storefront. It also struck a brick pillar outside before shattering the glass and coming to rest inside the business.

thats pretty crazy. a good friend of mine was almost killed by a car that came through the front entrance of the bank she was working at. she was pinned under the teller desk and against the wall with the car pushing up and on it. Scary
