You know, I was feeling pretty good about the Illini.

Then this...

I admit. I use words that people don't immediately think of. Mrs Dr. Ken calls me on it all the time. "People don't talk that way."

I get it. But, in my mind, that is the word that works. So....

But nobody uses the word "ambrosia" in casual conversation.

Dan, you don't care about Illinois. You hate them. They are the "DOWN SOUTH", mouth-breathing, seed-buying populace. STFU.

Maybe I'll throw this rant on Twitter. I haven't been blocked in a while.

I'm going too far.

This is how people get cancelled I imagine.

Funny to see Dan aligning himself with the racist downstate townies who worshipped The Chief.

I even feel bad about myself that I just read "abject misery" and didn't think that is not a thing people generally say.

For the record myself, I, not trying to get him fired or anything.

I like him. But he often doesn't realize some of the takes that he puts forth...I think he does....but he's in the entertainment business.

Dan Bernstein is an excellent radio host but sometimes focuses in the wrong direction with regard to topics.

This is just a review. Not a call to action.

Misery is always abject. It's like how Catholics are always "staunch." No one's ever heard of a staunch Congregationalist.

I’ve used ambrosia in a casual conversation. I blame my early education and my schools’ teaching of ancient Grecian culture. It was carried forward into entomology in all of the English classes we took in high school. On occasion a word would pop out and generate a lot of odd and befuddled looks. Since I don’t use the words they’ve slipped further and further into my subconscious so they don’t pop up. I suggest not using ambrosia in front of a 70 year old pig farmer though. Even if he is a staunch Catholic.

That said. I don’t think 95% of those odd words would ever pop out in the written word. It’s always been far noire subconscious than that. And there is no way in hell id want to try spelling them.

You know, it’s funny. I’ll say something using some ridiculous word in casual conversation with The Bandit and she will look at me like I’m the stupidest person in the world.

“What are you talking about? Use real words!”

And, honest to God, it takes me more than a pause to think of another word because the original word was the perfect choice.

I’m just not a social person.

Oh.. it’s always the perfect word. And it’s always greeted with blank stares. I am mostly recovered from this problem. Not the anti social problem though. That’s terminal.

 As for me, I'm an L.A. Times crossword guy because I won't pay for a NYT subscription. I'm also a douche, but a douche who can do a sub-4-minute Monday.

Yeah. I was even trying to avoid the bug study one. Too much Tractor time for me this week. Too much time away from that stuff too. Both of these are probably good things.

I’ve never completed a crossword puzzle in my life.

Feels like you need to know a secret code.

Yeah, it's that the three-letter word for ambient music producer is always ENO and a newborn newt is EFT. I'm reducing to absurdity, yes, but once you learn the bank of chronic crossword clues, everything falls into place.
