Solid win.. looking much better since the coach publicly called out.

good road win, 14-6.

Odd (very low) final score

Yep, although they are weirdly inconsistent. Beat two ranked teams on the road and lose at home to Rutgers and UTSA.

Is it time to stop paying attention to Illini now?

Got beat by a Marquette team picked to finish ahead of only DePaul this year in the BigEast. No Burning Cockman, but still, that's a massive loss for the #10 team in the land.

Great loss. Early. Learned a lesson.

Missing major starters on the road.

Won’t mean a thing in March. But every Marquette win is a bonus.

I hate Brad Underwood as a head coach about as much as I hate Nagy.

Not all of them. Not even most of them.

But this one has the most potential with the least amount of consequences.

Did you see that 22 year-old transfer from Maryland, Morsell?

B10 Defensive Player of the Year last year. Couldn't score for shit.

Now he's putting up 25/game. Marquette is probably going to be pretty decent.

Don't get your head out over your skis. It is not as if he will be facing a Brad Underwood coached defense every week. Underwood made Loyola look like the 95-96 Bulls.

Sure.

But, you've been here a while, you know it's pretty much what I'm known for. So, I plan to continue.

I stand my thoughts on that game.

It's a loss that really doesn't matter. Nothing before mid-January matters much for a one-off game if you have an explanation for the loss.

Kofi wasn't there. November road game. Committee will ignore.

They also have a guard that can fill it up. They will be fine.

Not as big a loss as Michigan took last night against Seton Hall.

I would tend to agree with you unless we see some more struggles in non-conference play. The turnovers are the concerning thing in my mind.

No way you can say right now whether that is a game the committee will ignore or not. Depends on the situation the Illini find themselves in come march.

So Big10 not going to wait until March to let the world know how overrated it is?

You'll enjoy future top 5 NBA draft pick Jaden Ivey and Canadian Shaq Zach Edey after they beat North Carolina and Villanova this weekend.

Purdue looks really good so far. Definitely looking forward to seeing them play some real teams this weekend. Already have that circled on my calendar.

Hopefully they're not hurt by playing vs bad teams from January till March.

Big10 completely exposed already. Even DePaul is getting wins vs them.

Not a good Illini game. When I went into class, they were up 23-10. Watched the last ten minutes on the smart screen....not a good effort.

Shaka not as good as the new Cincinnati coach who beat the Illini by 20 with Kofi on the floor.

Stick a fork in Underwood, Doc. Has not beaten a real team since losing to Loyola and Ayo is not walking through that door.

Get a football win Sat and hope to get a bowl game with a 5-7 record due to the program's graduation rate.

Team doesn't have a perimeter game.

Curbelo doesn't have a go-to shot that he can create on his own. I was hoping he'd develop more of his offensive game in the off-season.

Kofi still doesn't pass well out of the post.

Trent didn't show up tonight and got pretty butt-hurt the other night on Twitter about the last game. Wonder if that lingered.

All said, the team isn't consistent enough. They have weapons. They'll lose their fair share of games.

But, they are a team if a guy gets hot or figures something out can beat any team any night and maybe string a few wins together when it counts.

Possibly, but no one can shoot and there looks to be a serious lack of leadership on the court, despite having some super-seniors. They also looked gassed at times. Da'Monte looked older than his dad.
