Lawyers inadvertently did a great job making it obvious who got sucked off by a pedo.

Yep, also begs the question why the prospect in question didn't beat the shit out of Aldrich. Definitely had a size and weight advantage over him. Aldrich was 5'5 based upon a registry that a poster here is also on. Player in question was 6'3. No wonder the players in camp made fun of him.

He might end up being indirectly responsible for having to get rid of the name "Chicago Blackhawks." Talk about a first-round bust.

Wasn't he famous for beating the shit out of a teammate at camp during practice?

I guess him being a bust did help lead to them drafting Brandon Saad as they needed someone along with Bickell to be a power forward style LW'er. If you can't fight off a 5'5 pervert, how are you going to fight for positioning in front of the net on a PP when Kronwall is trying to cross-check you out of the goal mount .

The guy he beat was some tiny European AHL guy. Guy was like DeBrincat sized. Must have reminded him of his attacker in size and stature.

It seems like if HR had done an investigation and fired the guy at its conclusion, this all, save for the second incident with the intern, could have pretty much been avoided, right?

I've also got to believe that even if they notified HR right away, the department would have still offered the sicko the resignation package in lieu of an investigation and firing. Which begs the question, why did HR do that? At the behest of Management?

Yep, this all comes down to McDonough trying to win the day each day. He couldn't abide any setback ( andcertainly not when the sports radio station's afternoon show was devoted to calling fans white supremacists). Everything had to be perfect. And it was until it wasn't.

Aldrich is the one on the far right in this photo. The one who looks like he could be a coach's kid. I mean no wonder the team made fun of John Doe. This isn't Penn State Jerry Sadusky attacking little vulnerable boys from poverty. This is a fucking half man with a victim who was 6'3 200+ lb power forward winger drafted in the 1st round of the NHL draft who was supposed to be strong enough to battle with defenseman for positioning in front of the crease. I know I come off as a jackass here, but no wonder he couldn't play in the NHL and really didn't do anything in the AHL either. If you were making a list of top Blackhawks busts of the last 30 years, he'd be in the top 3 and that's before any of us knew about this.

I think he was already the #1 bust, but if he ends up getting a top-three-all-time coach banned from the NHL, he'll be #1 with a bullet.

And now I understand why players weren't sympathetic. When I thought it was one of a few other players, I couldn't believe that they would treat a teammate that way. Finding out it was the first-line power forward of the future who couldn't hack it and let some a/v nerd suck his cock in an attempt to get ahead, the picture is clearer.

He was literally supposed to be the guy who made Dustin Byfuglien (who you could argue deserved the Conn Smythe in 2010) expendable as a trade piece to get under cap. Everyone went into the 2010-2011 camp expecting "John Doe" would be the guy who would stand in front of Bobby Lu and be intimidating enough to get inside of his fragile head.

Who is going to speak for the organization on the upcoming Marian Hossa night? Hossa has to be pissed that he is flying back in the middle of this shit.

Maybe they should just offer Hossa the GM job. :)

Quote:
According to a confidant of John Doe who did not work for the Blackhawks, a little over one week after the sexual encounter, John Doe shared certain details of the encounter with the confidant. The confidant stated to us that John Doe was clear at the time that the encounter was not consensual.
Brad Aldrich stated that the encounter was entirely consensual. Aldrich stated, among other details, that he brought John Doe and a woman from a bar to Aldrich’s apartment, played strip poker, and engaged in oral sex with the woman, but not with John Doe. Aldrich further stated that after the woman left Aldrich’s apartment, Aldrich and Doe watched pornography, Aldrich received permission to engage in a sexual encounter with John Doe, Aldrich performed oral sex on John Doe, and Aldrich received a “hand job” from John Doe.
The woman present at the beginning of the encounter described by Aldrich was located and interviewed as part of this investigation. The woman recalled being present for and engaging in sexual activity with John Doe and Aldrich in Aldrich’s apartment in Chicago, but leaving at a certain point while Aldrich and John Doe remained at Aldrich’s apartment. Her version of events contradicts certain of Aldrich’s statements, and also contradicts certain of John Doe’s statements, who said that he went to Aldrich’s apartment building with the woman on a different evening, but the woman left before entering the apartment and no sexual encounter with the woman occurred.

- john doe makes allegation

- matter is 'investigated'. conflicting statements by all involved, including key 3rd party witness.

it appears the blackhawks decided not to inform the authorities of an alleged sexual assault due to the conflicting stories of ALL involved, it appeared that there was a good chance the sex was consensual amongst adults.. surely by 2010, it's possible that the video coach could have sued the blackhawks for losing his job based on an unproven allegation - due to homophobia and innuendo.

i believe the blackhawks could have fired him on the spot for abuse of his authority; coach-player.

i believe this was the glaring mistake:

Quote:
On June 16, 2010, the Director of Human Resources met with Aldrich and offered him the option to undergo an investigation into what occurred with John Doe or to resign. Aldrich chose to resign and signed a separation agreement during the meeting. No investigation was conducted.

the blackhawks should have put this guy on paid leave, further investigate the allegation(s) and go from there. he gets no option. the hawks gave him one and he took the escape.

similar to a parish priest who is removed and moved 700 miles away, only to continue to be a predator.

Wonder where all the fucksticks are who have been pushing back on this story since the allegations came out. I am talking about the homer fans on the HF boards and the Athletic comment sections- the ones who kept clamoring for evidence and asking "were you there?" The ones who kept victim shaming and wondering why the John Does kept quiet and if they were just looking for money. When they should have kept their mouths shut and hoped the allegations were not as bad as they appeared, they had to defend their team every step of the way. Well fuck them! Hope you enjoy the disdain that everyone in the hockey world feels for your team. Are you wearing your jersey today?

Possibly the biggest bust in Blackhawks history and Dale Tallon's worst draft pick: Kyle Beach

A blog wrote this about him when listing biggest busts in Blackhawks history:

https://lastwordonsports.com/hockey/202 ... ince-2000/

Quote:
Kyle Beach
One of the worst Chicago Blackhawks draft picks in history is Kyle Beach. A player who possessed the strength and scoring ability that many teams dream about. He had the skills and physicality but there were questions about his attitude. This caused some teams to pass on him, allowing Chicago to take him 11th overall in the 2008 draft. The attitude issues proved to be costly, as he racked up large penalty minutes in the AHL and never put his game together. He never appeared in an NHL game.

Definitely some questions about that physicality on his scouting report if he let a 5'5 pervert overpower him. I mean how the fuck could you expect him to go toe to toe with Kevin Bieksa? Seriously, I'm 100% not blaming players in camp who mocked him. If I knew him and the perp, I'd mock him too for not being able to fight out of that situation.

Come on Juice, context is everything. Yeah, of course people would want to ask for evidence of the claims, that is understandable. However, look at the rest of DAC's statement in total. Wanting to wait to see what the results of the investigation were is fine, but victim shaming and accusing John Doe of a money grab isn't. For those in this thread asking, "Why didn't he kick the scrawny coaches ass?" Do you honestly believe a 20 year-old who is fighting for a spot on a team that close to a championship wasn't afraid of the power that coach had? We all can say, "Who cares, it's the video coach?" Most of us here have a different level of development and world outlook than a 20 year-old who has been doing nothing but eat/sleep/drink hockey for their whole lives. If is was Beach (or whomever) do they have the executive functioning maturity to realize that this guy didn't really hold the power over him?
