I mean the first one is a lot of exposition, and can be a chore to get through.

After that tho it’s a pretty fun ride.

I mean to each is own, but that is definitely not an opinion I see very often.

Now the Hobbit movies on the other hand… Not that great.

I had thought they filmed the 2nd and 3rd movie or were in the process of. That sucks they haven't even started. I'll forget about this movie by the time 2nd one comes out.

I really liked the visuals and sound (though not so much the score), but found the pacing incredibly drawn out. I also didn’t understand why people in the year 10191 are using knives and swords when clearly there is better weaponry. And the ornithopters were pointless. I’d give it 2 out of 4.

From what I’ve read the shields they use will detonate like a nuclear bomb if they are hit by plasma/laser beams.

I didn’t have a problem with the pacing at all as this film was really pulling me in with the world building.

Every Dennis Vilenenueve movie tends to be paced like this.

Prisoners and Sicario are a little faster paced fwiw.

However, Blade Runner 2049 was a real fucking chore to get through pacing wise.

I get why the studio did that, but I hope they budget 2/3 both to be shot at the same time so they come out on the heels or at least start filming while 2 is in post production.

Me and the wife watched this. Took us 4 sittings to get through it, but we liked it.

Didn't realize it was a 2 part movie when we started. if I knew that I wouldn't have watched it, would've waited until the 2nd one was out and watched them both back to back. Now I gotta go back and rewatch this before part 2 and this was not a movie you want to watch more than once.
