That was a weak 1st inning for Sox hitters. Hughes hung Konerko and Dye curve balls. They both should have hit homers.

Good news: They will get to this Hughes guy. He just doesn't have it.

Hawk called it early. He is right. Every time Hughes throws that curve it has no bite. It's a floater and it's over the plate and high. We've missed some but OC just nailed that one. So will the rest of the guys eventually.

Wow!!! I was wrong about this game. I thought this would be a slug fest.

You can't say enough about Clayton Richard. My God!!!! 6.2 innings and only 2 runs (Should have been 1 but McDougal is an ass hole) allowed. He struck out AROD and Jeter two times each.

Talk about a great story for him. He's a rookie pitching in a tight division race. Pitching in the 5th last game at Yankee Stadium; the one and only time he'll ever pitch there. He comes through by pitching a beauty. Fuckin' Mcdougal put him on the hook for the loss.

Shame on the Sox hitters once again. Just a piss poor job. They've had some cookies to hit tonight and missed. They've failed at bunts and moving guys over as well.

Fuck McDougal. I think he enjoys being bad. I really do. Hawk is pissed. I don't blame him.

If Jabba keeps throwing that slider over, he's filthy.

Mother Fucker. It's just sheer misery watching this shit.

Out starting pitching have been great. I don't think any team has had better starting pitching, since August, than the Sox. All year really but it stands out more down the stretch.

But the bullpen blows it and we can't hit. So we've struggled.

This fuckin' sucks!!!!

Comcast showed a stat. The Sox have had the 2nd most quality starts in MLB. 82. Just one behind the Angles. That's over half the games. That means every other day we get a good starting job.

That's amazing. That's a World Series-type staff. It really is. If we can get in we have a shot. I keep saying that but nobody realizes it. I don't think national media realizes how great our starters have been this year. Not that it matters what they think but nobody talks about how great they have been.

You dedicate 2.5 hours watching this shit. Great job by Richard. In the end it means shit. Not a god damn thing. Sox lose by 3 runs. Mother Fuckers.

That being said, the fuckin' Twins are losing. We can remain 2.5 games up with another fuckin' day off the schedule.

lee got done in by his defense in this inning. Jamey Carroll booted one that opened the inning and the flood gates.

The shame of this...(1) Clayton Richard deserved better in 6 2/3 innings, because he pitched very good in his Yankee Stadium debut. (2) Despite Alex Rodriguez's 35th homer in the 8th, he's in "LOSER" terrority among New York sports fans. He's only got 2 hits in this series, and fans in the Bronx are giving "A-Rod" the business by booing him whenever he makes outs...

The Twins & Indians are tied at 4-4 at (Not So) Progressive Field in the bottom 7th. Go Indians! Unfortunately, Cliff Lee will NOT win #23 tonight... :(

The Indians have a 5-4 lead over the Twins in the bottom 7th on a two-out Jhonny Peralta RBI double...

Man, the Twins bullpen might be worse than the White Sox.

Twins lose. Twins lose.

Still pissed about the Sox loss. This makes it easier to take. Sox are in a good spot. Up 2.5 with 11 games to go. 10 games to go for the Twins. We're 3 games up in the loss column.

After that wild pitch, I took my dog for a long walk. Guess I didn't miss much. This bullpen is just as bad as last year, where's Ryan Bukvich when you need him?

Ya know, after seeing the replay, A.J. could have caught that ball. It would have been tough but the pitch wasn't that wild. A.J. was setting up inside and the fastball was just off the outside corner. MacDougal totally missed his spot. I know. Maybe A.J. got crossed up and was expecting a curve. If not he could have caught that ball.

Right. Linebrink was bound to give up 2 homers in the 8th even if MacDougal kept it at 1-1. So I guess that should make the wild pitch hurt less. :(

So who can you trust out of the pen other than Jenks? No one. Give the ball to Carrasco in the 8th and see what he can do. He can't be worse than Dotel or Linebrink.

Thornton can be trusted. He gets it done more than he fails. You still have to go to Dotel in the playoffs. He still has the strike out ability.

Linebrink has lost 4 or 5 MPH off his fastball and it's straight. Nothing you can do. Just hope the hitter doesn't square it up or lines it to somebody.

Ya know, come the playoffs, I would trust Richard in the 6th or 7th. He could get a batter or two. Maybe even 2 innings if you have to go to him early.

Hopefully we have big leads or the starters can go 8 innings.

Ozzie will bring Jenks in the 8th during the playoffs if he has to.

The bullpen really is a mess. It will probably kill us in the playoffs. I hope everything just clicks for the pen in the playoffs. But it doesn't work that way. If they're bad going in they'll probably be bad during. 4 straight complete games, like the 2005 ALCS, probably won't happen again. It's likely that never happens in the playoffs again. Hell, it won't happen in the regular season for a team either.

I, too, had "the feeling" after that pitch.

Got up, and got on the computer.

Switched over to Rick Steve's touring Salzburg.

Thorton has been fine. He's really our 8th inning guy right now.

Has Carrasco pitched much of late?

In talking about the pen, you know who else sucks? Horacio Ramierez. When will Kenny learn that if the Royals are willing to give up on a pitcher (Sisco, MacDougal, Ramierez) they must suck.

Wasn't Carrasco with the Royals too?
