Sorry to hear that. I knew him and even played at his chess club once on Lunt.

He was a nemesis of my teacher, Ray Doyle Satterlee, a winner of the U.S. Senior Chess Open. Doyle used to tell me stories all the time about Al Chow. He was a very good player at one point, master level just below IM and GM.

Everyone in the Illinois Chess community knew Al. He was a legend.
