What is "a lot"? I'm sure there are people that have been married/together for years that may incorporate pain or BDSM into their sex lives often or once in a while. If anything, them doing so just shows the amount of trust they have in one another.

Lots of people are into lots of different shit. I probably fall more on the vanilla end of the spectrum, but I don't know for sure. I don't see the appeal of smacking ass but I have had women request it.

You also have a lot of guys who watch Internet porn and come to the conclusion that women like facials and having their clits slapped.

The influence of porn has really changed what rough sex means to people, and what men and women expect from sex to begin with. I think an element of implied danger or force helps some women who want and need a guy to take command to really respond sexually.
