I would go a step further and say don’t read the comments. By now you have to know what’s coming, so why set yourself up for aggravation? A few years back I argued with Nas about the decision to remove the politics section from the active topics search. I have since come to realize I was wrong. I was a regular participant in many of the “discussions” and I found myself starting to dislike other posters that I’d never met and had previously enjoyed on less polarizing subjects. It’s much less aggravating when arguments are over trivial matters such as bad beer and lousy football.

We have a lot of problems in the world. People being mean to women in sports media isn't in top 2000.

1. The guy that calls you "fat" on social media probably isn't an evil guy. He read an article and made a comment. So what? His wife loves him. His kids love him. He just made a mean comment. Maybe he's having a bad day. So he takes it out on you. Sometimes I have a bad day and come here to take it out on the sports media people.

2. I think that's a healthy thing in this social media bullshit. Take your frustrations out on people that you don't know rather than people that you know. Who cares? Well, Julie does. But you shouldn't.

3. Is Julie gonna continue to be shocked by this? I mean she did that ESPN thing where they focused on "Mean tweets". That was 5 or 6 years ago. Now she's shocked that some poster was mean in this Trib article. What are you gonna do, Julie? This is what it is. You gonna still be crying about this 10 years from now - still be shocked? Like was said by JORR, you got your husband and kids. I assume you have some friends. Just hang with them and don't worry about the asshole on line that says you're fat.

4. She's sad that her college aged kids have to read this. Is she sad that her kids had to read that she rooted for a girl over her son in wrestling when he was younger. That would be a tough read for a kid.
