I don't know whether it's an endorsement or an indictment that the best song on the album isn't on the album.

If you're talking about the Fleetwood Mac album, I still give the nod to Thriller.

Appetite for Destruction is on the short list. Rumors too. Thriller is at the top.

I wouldn’t say Silver Springs is better than some of the other top songs on Rumours, but that notion is reminiscent of Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields Forever being left off of Sgt. Pepper.

Christine's songs are all bad on here, skip them every time. Early influence on DD/lg roleplay, though?

Rumors is a great album. Lindsey Buckingham as a phenomenal guitarist. I get all that. Taking their entire body of work....AS A BAND, highly overrated.

Greatest album of all time?? No.

It doesn't take much though to create a long list of superior albums....
Dark Side of the Moon
Back In Black
Appetite for Destruction
Abbey Road
Thriller

Go crazy....there's plenty of others I'm taking on a deserted island.

Songs in the Key of Life for something of the same time frame.
Purple Rain

I currently go back and forth between Operation:Mindcrime and an epic that only hard-core prog fans know: Into the Electric Castle by Ayreon.

AC/DC has made a career of rehashing the same chords over and over. No argument there, and no argument if you want to call them over-rated. They're a personal favorite of mine, but I would never ever refer to them as one of the all-time greatest bands in the world.

That being said...Back In Black is a fucking masterpiece and one of the all-time greatest selling albums. I'm taking that one over Rumors....which, again...I think is a very good album.

AC/DC may be overrated and re-hashed, but they had more quality albums that Fleetwood Mac.
Let's Take Back In Black and Rumors off the table. AC/DC still has Highway To Hell, Dirty Deeds, Powerage on their resume. Shit....I'll even take For Those About To Rock over any of Fleetwood Mac's albums not called "Rumors".

Every album mentioned since my post by others....I fully agree...they're better than Rumors  Special acknowledgment of "Songs in the Key of Life" and "Operation: Mindcrime". Absolute gems!

It's RUMOURS motherfuckers. I can't deal with this now but I'm tired of seeing the title.

It's a good album. I owned it.

But it's not even as good as their previous album.

And neither are the greatest of all time.

Let's focus, people.
