Blue Velvet fails most of my tests for what constitutes a good movie (Is there a compelling story? Are there three dimensional characters? Is there a point to anything I'm watching?), but it's one of those movies you find yourself thinking about long after you've seen it.

I've said it before but the one tv show that could use a reboot due to updated scientific understanding and filming tech is Quantum Leap.
