Yes Championships mean more, but a division winning baseball team does not suck, and with the Bulls start they certainly do not suck.

Instead of Tweeting something positive like, "a Championship and a team in the finals. Great couple of months for Women's pro sports in Chicago," she tries to disparage men and falls flat on her face.

I have been praising the Bulls because all of my Chicago teams would suck otherwise. For the Sox fans, you had a nice year and actually adds to my personal pain. But seeing the Bulls being rebuilt into a watchable and fun team gives me hope.

Plus there was a great DH story on the Blackhawks new head coach. He sounds like the real deal. Fields showing some signs of development makes me happy. I guess I am an optimist…..

Her ranting is actually doing a disservice to women's sports because it is causing people to re-examine whether they should even care about them. When you get right down to it, women's sports are not inherently more important or interesting than boys' high school sports. Both feature restricted competition.

Along the same lines, when there is something positive in women's sports, either she makes a poor Tweet like the one above, or she ignores it alltogether.

Not one time has she tweeted or written about the Augusta Women's Amateur tournament held the week before the Masters. Also a few weeks back, the LPGA had all women doing the call on TV. She mentioned that zero times.

If she truly wanted to highlight and promote women's sports, she would be writing and tweeting about these things.

I don't mind her sport, gymnastics, for obvious reasons. Plus she agrees with me and wouldn't be caught dead watching women attempt to play a man's sport.

It eats at her that more people care about the Catholic League than care about either of those 2 teams.

I don't understand why she takes it so personally. It's not misogyny that makes women's leagues boring. It's the athletes. People want to watch, with the exception of Bears and Cuns fans, the highest tier of athletic ability and competition.

Candace Parker was on Bob Costas’ HBO show last week. She’s super-impressive, but she kept saying “the whole city turned out” for their championship. While the relatively small (capacity only 10,000) Wintrust Arena was sold out, I felt sort of bad for her that she seemed to genuinely think “ the whole city turned out.” That includes the sparsely attended parade—the photos I saw were embarrassing.

I have yet to see any person in any public place I have been in the suburbs wearing Sky gear. Not even women are wearing it, so this isn’t misogyny, it’s just a general lack of interest.

Too many angry "butch" athletes in female sports. When Chicago first got women's pro teams they were more ladylike.

I kinda like basketball at all the skill levels. But generally, you're right. There's also volleyball, that's watchable. Also, outlaw softball and go to hardball. Womens' hand/eye coordination can be as good as mens. No? My mom could beat my ass at golf. I didn't get anything from my dad, including athletic skills.

Women’s tennis is better than men’s. The volleys generally last longer, and it’s not just power-serving aces (exception may be Serena).

Hockey is great when its on but its hardly ever on. DI womens playoff hockey is usually really good and the US/Canada showdowns during international competition are always great. Jules never mentions these teams regardless of how well they do. I think Kendal Coyne wrote a book that just came out about breaking barriers in sports. People will actually buy and read that unlike the pile of shit she put out.

LPGA golf is much more interesting for me than PGA Champions tour events. I also used to watch a lot of women's tennis when I was playing in USTA leagues.

when serena was dominating it was fun until it was boring like when federer and nadal were snoozing through grand slams. tennis is better when there's no one dominant player. so seeing what's going on in women's tennis now is fun. the US open was definitely better on the women's side this year.

funny thing is the grunting has been more of a men's problem than women's lately.
