Hopefully it resets him back to just being a smart kid with some spider powers. The Iron Man level of tech he now has was done well enough in the movies, but it’s a bit much for a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

That's what I liked about the original movies. Spider-man was a poor kid barely making it. Now he's funded by a corporation with limitless funds.

And nothing against Andrew Garfield, but I don't feel the need to revisit that version again. Electro sucks.

It seems like they are setting him up to be the next Iron Man. I don't think they can wait for Miss Iron Man.

Did you just assume Miss Iron Man's gender?

I get it's a fine line between a slavish devotion to the comic books characters and doing something new and interesting with them, but Spidey's charm is that he's just some high school dweeb who gets some enhanced strength and senses, shoots webs, and fights some pretty famous but hardly world threatening villains. Sure, years and years of comic books have taken him pretty far from that original concept, but 3 Avengers and 2 (soon to be 3) Spider-Man movies isn't a lot of time to turn him into Tony Stark Jr. fighting Thanos.

Yeah it’s going to segue directly into his movie.

I think Doc Ock is definitely going to end up helping the Peters, and that’s really cool.

I haven’t read any spoilers.

It’s just something I think will happen.

That's why Ultimate Spiderman was a beloved book. It sent Spidey back to his roots. The entire Venom/Carnage story arc was fun, but by the time Maximum Carnage came along people were sick of Spider-Man fighting fangs and claws to prevent mass murder. Ready for Spidey to use a wet-dry vac to stop Sandman again.

I will be boycotting this thread and all trailers until I see the movie when it's available to purchase OnDemand.

It's really a shame that the "Only In Theaters" people like JBills won out.

Fantastic. Long, but however fantastic.

Particularly if you are immersed in previous Spider-Man productions over the years which I am.

I’m a Spider-Man guy. The movie is Amazing.

Saw it in 3D.

First time I didn’t get a headache. Very smooth.

I have the same review.... I'm sure some of that was the nostalgia of "mashing" all the characters into 1 movie. A lot of the Marvel/superhero stuff doesn't do much for me, but I really liked this movie.

absolutely enjoyed this one, thoroughly. "into the spiderverse" and "homecoming" are still #1 and #2 of all-time spider-man movies, with the original coming in third. but this was great as well.

best line of the film: "so are you just gonna be dressed as a cool youth pastor?"

i'm not really digging the upcoming "phase"...the collision course with wackiness that is the multiverse thing could be fun, but one thing this movie very carefully walked a line. it came very close to just being overblown. i have a feeling that's an inevitability going forward.

the mid-credit scene was lame. i just don't give a shit at all for this cookie monster voice for venom or carnage or whatever. it's just awful.

"far from home" was a bit of a let down. this redeemed the series. but felt like it should've been a finale. since marvel is a bloated monster of money, i know that's not the case.

:D :D :D out of :D :D :D :D

The movie effectively…

Stripped Spider Man of all his Stark tech.

Gave him back his anonymity.

And wrapped up a trilogy that was basically one long origin story.

Now MCU Peter can be the friendly neighborhood Spider Man that most of us were familiar with before 2015.

This is probably my favorite Spider Man movie.

Just to see all the characters and high profile actors share screen time together elevated the film above a lot of comic book movies I’ve seen.

The whole scene in Happy’s apartment was really cool.

But there were a lot of other stand out scenes as well.

I’m going to see it again on Sunday.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

From what I’ve heard Tobey was supposed to die at the end, but Kevin Feige changed that so Tobey and Andrew could both be used in the future.

SECRET WARS
