I found this on HBO Max, but it's an adult swim show. so the episodes are only about 11 minutes long (except 2 extended 20-minute episodes). It's 2 seasons. I don't know if it's getting renewed for a third.

Pera is a very strange bit--as far as I know it's a bit. He talks and walks like an old man, but he's only in his early 30's. The humor is very understated and extremely dry. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who wants "laugh-out-loud" funny.

His standup is pretty much the same as his show persona. In the show he lives in the UP, Michigan, and each episode is constructed around him "talking" to you about various things (taking a drive, breakfast, and getting you back to sleep). There's a peacefulness about the atmosphere and music that can lull you even when he's not trying to get you back to sleep.

The show is pretty wholesome except for some swearing, but the feel of the show is completely adult swim. It's offbeat, sometimes weird, sometimes too quiet, sometimes off-putting. But I really enjoyed it and hope there are more episodes to come.

I got hooked on the persona, too. I don't know if I could listen to Joe Pera talk like a normal person. it would throw me off.

new season started. i've watched the first 2 episodes ("sits with you", "builds you a fire"). it's refreshing to see the show is exactly the same quality as the first two seasons so far. love the friendship joe has with gene, and how joe convinces sarah to maybe get some friends.

this is a perfect fall show, too...

"Shows You His Second Fridge" is probably the most laugh-out-loud funny episode i've seen since "Reads You the Church Announcements". this show is a warm apple night.
