This year right now he's better, that's what I'm saying. If I had to draft one I'm taking MJP because obviously he's younger, etc. But honestly MJP is soft and I'm probably trading out of the draft if he's my only option. Pass.

Are you doing the MJP thing on purpose?

But other than that I disagree strongly. What you’re saying essentially is that you trust a 9 game sample size over a 61 game sample size in terms of telling you who a player currently is.

He's soft. You know how I feel about guys that are soft. Irving, Simmons, etc. There's a pattern. 100 GMs out of 100 would draft porter over Barton. But right now Barton at 17 5 and 4 is doing more to help that team. At his best Barton is a 15 5 and 5 kind of guy. Not bad but definitely outclassed by Porter should he ever produce consistently.

Im not a huge MPJ guy. Hes definitely injury prone but i dont really get the soft thing.

And yes, a guy who is starting is doing more to help a team than a guy who is injured and not playing. That seems like an odd thing to point out tho.

Are you willing to say Barton was better than MPJ last year? If the answer is no, can you explain why you think a 9 game sample size is more significant than a 61 game sample size?

Genuinely curious at your logic here because this seems illogical as hell

Patrick Williams was a starter. That's a big piece. Also, White (instant offense expectations) is working himself back into shape.

Murray and Jokic are huge pieces but it's not like we are close to full strength either.

Man. I like to be optimistic too but realistically speaking it’s just straight up ridiculous to compare the guys we are missing or working back into shape to what Denver was missing. Might be a good time to remember they were missing their 3 best players which also includes the literal league MVP

I think Barton is better than MJP. He's got more hype but he's soft.

The convo is not which missing guys are better but the unreasonable expectation (imo) that a shorthanded Bulls team should crush another team, especially on the road.

Will Barton isn't better than MPJ

Not really. Vegan likes a certain type (Lebron) of player. There is a reason Porter got the big contract. There is also a reason that Barton has never been considered anything more than a rotation player.

Not Really!

What's crazy is this. The same type of arguments we have here about basketball are the same sort of arguments that me my old high school buddies would have. Same sort of arguments you have at the barbershop or bar about sports

The shit is fun as long as the person you're talking shit with knows his shit..

I never take it personally as long as it's respectful. You stepped away from the hoops shit for awhile. I think you believe you can just walk back in and start talking shit again. It's some heavy hitter guys posting here now. Might be tougher than what you remember.

We always good though. Talking shit and disagreeing!
