The problem I have with Roman is I’m not sure how much we see is John Harbaugh Vs Roman.. Harbaugh is one of the best coaches in the NFL and had a SB win prior to Roman.


The Bears need to find a coach that understands all phases of the game and can get involved in planning from top to bottom. I’m not sure Fox was even that guy tbh as he seemed to shy away from offense.. tho it’s worth noting that he allegedly gave his input in the 2017 draft saying he liked Watson or Mahomes, so he did seem to understand enough

Not true . Wanny was THE hot prospect at the time and they got him . Lovie was also a hot assistant when they got him ( and was a good coach). Even Trestman was widely lauded as a next level think outside the box good hire .

Trestman was coaching in Canada at the time and a lot of people questioned that hire. It was ‘outside of the box’ for sure tho.


Fox was definitely a qualified hire, he even immediately brought in a really good coaching staff with Fangio and the rest of them. Problem is, they wouldn’t part right away with Cutler.. then after they did part ways with him they decided to go against Fox’s wishes and draft Mitch over Watson and Mahomes (who Fox liked)

Yep, that was one of the early warning signs with Pace. I'm convinced Pace doesn't get the job unless he agreed to keep Cutler per the bean counter's wishes.

The other day with Parkins, Hub said flat out McCaskey would not fire Nagy mid-season, and then when Parkins called him out to confirm he has inside knowledge of that, Hub said no, but that was based on "everything I know about George McCaskey over the years and not any first-hand information."

I'm more interested in having the McCaskeys restructure the entire organization before seeing the Bears settle on a coach. Not unlike the rise and fall of Trump (and Obama before him), the hiring and failure of Nagy is merely a symptom of a much larger problem.
