Best HS player I had seen in person was Laquon Tredwell. The ESL transfer Luther Burden is better.

I saw them earlier this year and was impressed. The QB can throw lasers.

That's interesting. He looked great the few times he touched the ball.

Had to look that up! Johnny Lattner. I remember seeing that Time Magazine cover somewhere at my grandparents. Pretty cool. My grandfather was class of '46. I've got a cool photograph of he, his twin brother, and all the rest of the Friars at Soldier Field for the Chicago Championship.

It's crazy that they used to get 100K fans for those city championship games.

I laugh every time I see the Leo Taft game mentioned as the biggest attended game in Chicago history.

Says a lot about the Bears prior to 83.

That's really cool Ron. So your Gramps was one of the twins?

Dan O'Brien was there when i was.

Duchon became a hall of fame coach at Glenbard West.

Bud Romano's nephew and I are best friends.

I had no clue that or how they allegedly stuffed 260k for a religious event there in the fifties.

Or just how wide the attendance claims are for there. Apparently Leo still makes a claim through their alumni association, as does Notre Dame. But I still can't stand that dump.

Yes, Coleman was my grandfather. He's correctly identified in the picture but passed away in 2004, not in 2013.

So Dan O'Brien was still a coach when you were at Fenwick? Both your dad and you went there? That's very cool and special.

I know my grandpa remained close with some high school teammates/friends. He had nine kids too so I'm sure some of my aunts/uncles know other people's kids as well.

Seacrest won't brag about it but he was a decent football player on a pretty good team.

And let's not forget the greatest BlackFriar of them all- Nasti Habits ('79), lead singer of Diamond Rexx.

Dan was the trainer. Best high school swim coach in US history. An amazing record that will never be surpassed. His water polo teams were almost as good.

There are 6 boys in our family.

My dad, and five of the six are Fenwick grads. One went to the same school that Young Crest graduated from last year.

One of my class and team mates was quoted in the Tribune today for selling Tony Accardo's old house in River Forest.

The metal heads hung out in the back parking lot smoking cigarettes and other things before school.

Two of them from my class never saw their 20th birthdays.

My grandparents (and my mom, the first of nine) lived right around the block from that house in the mid-50s. I learned after a quick phone call with my mom earlier that Buddy and his family/my grandparents use to go to each other's parties. One or two of my uncles use to work for his wine distribution company.

They are back in the wine business, and my buddy is currently the President, but moving on to something else probably the first of the year
