There is no correct answer or set time. As with most things in life it varies depending on many things with each person. Some maybe an adult at 18. Some may not really be an adult until 30+

For me I think it happened at 19 when my father died and life slaps you in the face, and you don't really have a choice but to grow up or get ran over by life.

In the past I would have said when someone turned 18.

But these days with so much information thrown at people before they turn 18, probably when they start living on their own and learn to live life.

Spot on. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but I partook when both my sons were born, then after when there wasn't enough time in the day. Sniffing glue and trevor bauering hookers just wasn't appropriate anymore.
