Outside of the top 4 im not even sure this is my top 10. Top 4 are unassailable but the next 6 could have 50 different movies in that spot and its a great list. Outside of Antioch y’all are nuts.

Saving Private Ryan…

I have others, but wow, how’s you miss that one.

My favorite movie is a 70s movie (Jaws) and in my top 5 is 1979s Escape From Alcatraz. The rest are probably 80s Indiana Jones and Lethal Weapon flicks.

First of all I'll die on the hill that Con Air is awful. Anything with Cage is awful. Ever since he was allowed to do that Pokey voice in Peggy Sue he was ruined as a human being. Crimson Tide might have been good if not for the story, the actors, the director and the editing.

Ok ok. Every decade had good movies. But can we agree that the reboot era is garbage?

I’ll do 6:

There Will be Blood (best acting performance ever)
Gladiator (eminently watchable)
Inglorious (who doesn’t love seeing Hitler machine gunned)
Step Brothers (perfect comedy - Role Models a close second)
No Country
Slumdog (clever, well acted, plays on white guilt…)

Denzel and Hackman are two of the best actors of all time, add in Viggo and Gandolfini and I don’t think its unfair to say your opinion on Crimson Tide is wholly nonsensical

Fine. The actors over acting I'll overlook. The story though... is terrible.

I agreed with ya, 90s is king. Every movie on the 2k list is great though.

must be different tastes...i believe the 70's was the greatest.

from jaws and the godfather to close encounters to the exorcist to dirty harry to the french connection to blazing saddles to the omen to slapshot to patton to the deer hunter to apocalypse now.

every genre covered.

Im not a comedy guy so im trying to give you a break on Meet the Parents and Me Myself and Irene, but just come on man.

Glad you changed your tune though.

To use RFDC’s analogy:

90s = Jordan

70s = Dwayne Wade

80s = George Gervin

2000s/2010s = Ray Allen, DeMar DeRozan

There is no Kobe in this analogy

The 90s list hasn't even included Forrest Gump and Schindler's List. This is a blowout of epic proportions.

the 2010's began a huge decline but i will say 2014 was a great year for film. maybe the last one.

the 1990's and 1940's were probably the 2 best solid decades, then the 50's, and 70's and 60's.

The first two Godfathers push the 70s over everything else. It's like having Michael Jordan and Wilt on the same team in their primes.

The 90s gets a point deducted for Godfather III. Or the 1980s, whenever it came out, I don't know. And neither should anyone else.
