I have to give them credit. They've kept trying to push forward and beat the big corporate system.
"Beat" the corporate system by coning another representative of corporate America to sponsor an economically unsound (in the next 5-7 years at least) business model only because the guy who happens to be in charge of it is a former softball buddy.
Many early stage ideas are not economically viable in the early stage.
I'm not sure about how this thing is financed. I would bet that Wildfire is not fronting much $$$ at all, so I doubt they are losing money. Its "free pub" for the website (good pub is another question). Talkzone is likely financing the studio time to add content to their lineup, I would imagine. The Norths appear to be landing their own advertisers. Who is losing any serious money here? If anyone, it would be Talkzone, IMO.
And yes, North is trying to "beat" the system by trying to remain viable in the market without having to work for the large radio corporations and have to abide by their rules. Granted, this operation will not pay anywhere near what he turned down, but if you have millions in the bank and don't live a lavish lifestyle, then quality of life is more important than a few hundred thou to many.
