I know our sports media licks his dick. Gushes over him. They really don't think he's great but it's just a thing with them where they feel that they have to say he's great. Same way with Steve Stone.

But we don't have to suck his dick. So everybody just agree with me by saying "Yes".

Think he's pretty good during Bears broadcasts. Gives a lot of insight. Getting to be more opinionated during games, and Score visits. Though, he needs to work on not saying the "You know?" crutch repeatedly when speaking.

I like when he screams "BALL!" at the top of his lungs.

Right. Thayer just doesn't know how to speak properly. Which is fine. Except for the fact that he's been a broadcaster for a few decades. Maybe get a coach to help you.

But it doesn't matter for him. The McCaskey's obviously love him for some reason. He's been a kiss ass. That's why.

Then, I find it amazing that Mully sometimes asks him to sub during the baseball season. The guy knows shit about baseball. But there he is, on the air, saying stuff. Once again, just puking out words, making no sense and sounding like the idiot that he is. Mully will say "Great stuff" after he gets done talking. Even though Mully knows Thayer is a dumb ass.

I'm a fan of Tom Thayer discussing the Bears. He's what Olin should want to become.

Back in the early 90s I was at North Ave. beach near the volleyball courts one summer afternoon. From the south I see two men walking up, a black and a white guy. They are two of the biggest guys you ever saw in your life. When they got a little closer I recognized them---Tom Thayer and Richard Dent. Everyone was awestuck.

If you listen closely to Olin he will give you brutally honest opinions on all things football. He was one of the first that openly questioned Nagy when the majority of the local "Bears experts" were going on and on about Nagy being a genius. Heard him openly question Hub's boot licking defense of the McKaskey family once and it made for deliciously awkward radio as the Hubster had to backtrack and quickly moved on to another subject.

Thayer is a replacement level local color guy who gets by mostly on the gravitas that comes with being a Super Bowl winning Bear.

Former football players from any level may often scream that.

I do when watching games.

Olin is the guy who continues to tell us that Sam Mustipher is good. Why? Olin trains him. His personal relationships affect his professional opinions. That’s a problem for me.

Thayer breaks down the team without some petty agenda. He also doesn’t tell you that your eyes are lying to you because a guy on the Bears team is cutting him a check.

During Sundays broadcast, as they introduced each player the graphic displayed the players PFF ranking. Indont remember exactly where Mustipher was but it was near the bottom 4 or 5.

Agree wholeheartedly that Mustipher is likely one of the first guys replaced by the next regime, but remember Olin saying Mustipher was a better option than who they were starting last year, not that he is an all pro, but then again centers tend to stick up for other centers. He was also very tight with Harry Hiestand who coached Mustipher at ND, found it funny that when Parkins was going on and on about how good Juan Castillo and Bill Lazor were Olin just said, "If they are so good why where they both out on the street".

Olin was the only local "Bears expert" other than Moon Mullen that were brutally honest about how bad the Bears offense looked in training camp several years ago when the others were all regurgitating the "Mitch is ready to take the next step" BS that Nagy was spewing.
