On Talking Sopranos a few weeks ago, Michael and Steve said that if Jim Gandolfini had lived, there definitely would be a sequel to the series by David Chase.

But since he passed, no idea. I could see Meadow being the head of the Jersey crime family if she wasn't killed with Tony. But then again, it sounds like NY took over Jersey and probably Paulie is running things in 'that pygmy thing over in Jersey.'

Yeah, she could bring in Ibram X. Kendi to give a D.E.I. seminar to Paulie and Benny at Satriale's.

i thought butch let tony know that 'he could do what he had to do'? considering phil was angry at butch over the payphone that butch didn't get tony and phil had to still stay away from the war zone. i'm thinking butch didn't feel comfortable with phil coming back.

i like the russian angle. slava would move all of tony's overseas assets into his accounts - gives valery a nice chunk.

its probably the most simple -

the hit contract was put out by Phil and wasnt able to be called back after he got killed. or, they didnt try too hard to pull it back and butch and whichever other NY guys could have full control.

some random one off scene like the vipers or the russian from pine barrens is red herrings. the most absurd ive seen is a theory that that girl Rhiannon was a main catalyst.
