I know that we're in an era where we're required to be outraged about everything, however, this doesn't bother me even a little. I'm not shocked that someone, including a judge, may use slurs in their home. I'm also not shocked that someone may have said something offensive during an attempted robbery. If she has a clear pattern of racial bias in her rulings, I would be outraged about that.

Is she an appointed or elected judge?

The problem with that is she clearly does have a racial bias so I’m not sure how you could presume that doesn’t enter into her judicial rulings. Maybe not overtly but enough to effect an outcome.

Yeah I don’t get that POV either, unless it’s trying to do a confirmation bias thing.

The lady is obviously a piece of shit; I guess it’s fair to assess her judicial record to see if the racism comes through in court, but I very much doubt that’s what’s coming next.

Are you of the belief that she's the only judge with racial or others biases? Everyone has personal biases. If those things negatively impact their professional work, I see them as a problem. We have zero proof that they've impacted hers. All we know is that she shouted something offensive during an attempted robbery.

I think so.

I also think Nas's position is eminently reasonable. I'm just pretty certain it might be received a lot differently were it expressed by someone else.

What you said earlier was rational. If there is a clear bias in her rulings, then we have a huge problem.

Like I said before, it just shocks me when a parent uses a racial slur in front of a (younger) child. One of the most interesting phenomenons I have seen is people who will occasionally use a racist slur (pretty much the N-word, but others, too) around close friends will NEVER use one around their children. There's a recognition there either that you have to break the chain or that having a child who drops racial slurs may not, as former poster Apologist* once put it, prepare you well for the 21st century, or both.

I never know what to think when someone (not just Whites, but mostly) will use a racial slur when talking to me. It's like they trust me that I'm cool with it, or almost like they are confiding something. They'll whisper it, too. I am sure this will enrage some of the context-free Millennials on this site, but it's actually really funny, kind of like a real-life Michael Scott moment.

* who incidentally left this board due to someone dropping a racial slur on him. Too bad; he was cool. Nas was the only one to call the person (a person who is hilarious but sometimes bobs in vileness, as we all do) out.

Lots of attention on the judge here but what about Randy Moss? He beat the shit out of someone in highschool and no one talks about that.

WFR is a hero for reminding us about the evil deeds of Randy Moss in high school and for reminding us that some out there have reduced cranial capacity which leads to increased rates of violent crime.

Is it based on 1 opinion or a clear pattern of predictable opinions that are inconsistent with other thoughts?

Let's not confuse or even conflate the actual issue. Twitter Feed is labeled a racist because he says blatantly racist things. Unfortunately we live in a society where far too often racists and those that deny/ignore racism are afforded the opportunity to define exactly what it is. As is happening now.

No one is falsely accusing that bigoted asswipe of being racist. He is considered racist because he says racist shit all of the time. That's it. That's all.

I don't know. But what I do know is that if WfR had posted the same exact thought you did, instead of making snarky comments and obliquely calling me a racist, The Missing Link would be attacking him for making the post. I'm 100% certain of that.

Anyway, I get your point. Sure, she's a piece of shit. But if we eliminated every piece of shit from their employment, I'm not sure what the country would look like.

But if her reflex is to start shouting the thing she did, I have my doubts that she could actually do the job she has without letting her biases creep in. Let her do something else where people's lives aren't in the balance.

I do think that sometimes happens, though. He can make insightful points.

But he does come with some baggage. Like this judge now does.

On a different note, I'd love to have that judge dropped on top of me. Less so with WFR.

doesn't look right.

Do you really think she's racist because she said the n word? Her family got another piece of shit off the street, and all anyone talks about is the victim who actually helped stop a criminal. Put that judge in Chicago and we'd have less pieces of shit being set free by Kim Foxx. Maybe she's a shitty person for saying what she did but nothing she said was wrong or a lie. If Twitter Feed happened to make the post he'd claim that the use of the "N" word wasn't racist because some black kid on Maypole and Kedzie shot and killed their best friend's cousin. So why are we concerned about some judge in LA. And not that?

And away we go. I'm not appalled by what the judge or her children said because I know that racism is very much prevalent in our society.

Ironically the first time I was ever called that word by someone that wasn't black was in Ruston, La. at a stoplight.

And I'm not the person who comes here day after day trying to minimize the effects of racism. You are.

We would have a few dozen of Tim Tebow's trying to hold things together.

I hear you, but we wouldn't even know what she said during an attempted robbery if her spoiled kids didn't release the recording where they're telling us. I'm fine with allowing her constituents decide if she should stay on the beach.

I don't know. But what I do know is that if WfR had posted the same exact thought you did, instead of making snarky comments and obliquely calling me a racist, The Missing Link would be attacking him for making the post. I'm 100% certain of that.

And what I am certain of is that people such as yourself provide cover for the bigotry of guys like Twitter Feed. This is but another example of it.

At other times, WFR creates problems for himself.

That's it. That's all.

But sometimes he says things that make perfect sense. Despite his reputation, it seems prudent to respond first to what he is posting. If you smell bullshit based on his history as a poster, no one can blame you for that (if you can make the argument, that is).

However, he does sometimes offer pretty good analysis. He also goes after several people I really respect, which always makes me hesitant to defend him, but . . . ya gotta stay honest. Otherwise, I tend to get dumber.

Definitely.

Of course, this might win her a ton of votes.

He very well may but that still doesn't make him any less of a racist. And the "just respond to what he is posting" angle doesn't quite jive because he himself never does this. The overwhelming number of disagreements that he has on here are with blacks or people that happen to defend them. He never entertains the thought of either group in fact. Its the very same two step. If you are black you are falsely accusing him of racism and if you are white you hate yourself, which is why you defend blacks. He is easily the most biased and prejudiced person here. For what it's worth Nas goes out of his to not label the clown a bigot and he still claims Nas is playing the "race card". Reader goes out of his way to avoid him yet whenever Reader dares to make a comment about race he just always seems to be right there with a personal attack.

There isn't a discussion that he will or can have with a person of another race that will not be seeped in his own prejudices, biases, and racism. It is impossible for him to do and rather than apologize or ignore it I prefer to simply call it for it is and keep it stepping.
