Given the absolute deluge of these ads, who deserves your money this time of year?

My guess is like 90% of the money goes to buying ads the day after Christmas through New Years but it's still a decision that should be made.

I say turn them abused fighting dogs loose on the St. Judes kids. The kids may be able to choke some of 'em out with their fancy blankets or whack 'em with their crutches, but the dogs will definitely be gnawing on them tiny, wooden legs!

It amazes me the amount of money animal charities are able to raise.

I'm sure I've mentioned this before. My uncle was a judge for a long time at the Markham courthouse. He said that any time there was a "big" trial going on, there would be protestors/supporters or people gathering outside. Sometimes a small group, sometimes a few dozen people. He always maintained thatt he largest crowds by far happened any time there was an ongoing animal cruelty case. Typically he knew ahead of time and had to use a different parking lot and entrance.

correct me if i'm wrong and i know there are sites that track this, but aren't all these 'national ' type charities only actually giving like 10 cents on the dollar to the actual cause ? Like if you wanted to donate to a 'save the animals' charity, your money would be better used giving to a local shelter vs. the ASPCA . A local food pantry vs. "No kid hungry " (forgot that one )

For animals you're actually better off donating a bag of cat/dog food at a local shelter. Or cleaning supplies. Old towels, sheets, blankets, and even newspaper are used to lined cages.

St Jude's is a good one because they don't bill for treatments or for parents housing.

Humane society of the United States is pretty notorious for spending almost everything on lobbying. Administration and more fund raising. As is peta. Find a local rescue or shelter and donate time or money or whatever resource you have there.

I'm going to declare "Injured puppies in cages" as the winner based on how much of a lead they have in ad buys this year. They must make as much money as a small country from this.
