Confidence is increasing for measurable, shovelable snow on Saturday and Saturday night. The latest models are favoring a southern track of the storm, which means we will be on the cold and windy side thus we get the snow. A bit early for snowfall predictions, but 6"+ wouldn't surprise anyone at this point.

I'm just glad the wintery mix didn't happen. Snow almost melted off out here but the weekend one sounds like, if it happens, it will stick around.

So much for a good turnout for our Saturday gig...

I would think an NYDay show would have a paltry crowd regardless. Don't most people take NYDay as a rest and recovery day?

Single people go out new years eve. If you have kids, which is most people, then new years day is where all the family shit happens

Mackey's is a pure music establishment, we shall see.

I see. Well good luck. I think you may need it. Hopefully you have fun and make a few bucks regardless of the crowd.

Latest forecast shows the southern part of the metro area might be in for a big 7-8"+ snowstorm. Lesser amounts further north. The forecasters will likely sharpen their pencils and have better snowfall estimates and timelines later today and tomorrow morning. Very windy and bitter cold Saturday night into Monday for everybody though. NYE looks good and the early morning of NYD looks alright. Any traveling that is done 11am or noon on Saturday could be really dicey.

The bad news is that we are more than likely to see 4"-6"-8" of snow across much of the metro area. The good news is that this will take place on a Saturday/Holiday and any icing that does occur should do so downstate.

This is really going to fuck with my plans to take down Christmas lights Saturday.

Get them down tomorrow or very early Saturday. You'll probably have a couple hours in the AM before the snow begins to fall.

Our flight down to Florida Saturday afternoon is a bit concerning.

Things can change with winter storms pretty quickly, but right now it looks like there is a 99% chance you will not fly out of MDW or ORD after about 11am on Saturday. See if you can change it to an early AM flight or get out tomorrow if possible.

Was in Plano last night when the snow started falling.

Country roads are not a lot of fun when the snow hits.

Just aim down the middle of the cleanest path of snow. Hopefully you’ll stay out of the ditch. There have been times it gets dicey when there are no landmarks to go by.

There are no landmarks heading home until you reach that airport in Aurora.

Those aren’t country roads. Those roads on the Old Chicago Road route have lines on them.

If it isn’t chip and seal or gravel/dirt is it a country road?

Not in my world.

If it’s 90 degrees and that road doesn’t cake your truck in dirt and/or tar, it’s not a country road.

Can I turn this into a Jeff Foxworthy career?

Going through Sugar Grove on Route 30 during snow is an adventure.

Worth it. Thing fired right up. You don’t use that much over a year. A call is $100 minimum.

Old maintenance guy last year told me to use it. It’s what gas was in the 1970s without all the extra crap clogging the injector.

He was full-on butt-crack certified so I listened. He was right.
