Thought he's from Joliet

This is like FF thinking LeFleur - a nobody before getting the GB job - is a genius.

I offered evidence of why I think he's good that you have been unable to rebut whatsoever

I would still like to hear a good case for Leftwich. I am not opposed to him, but I just don't really understand why he is such a hot name. It would seem there are much better options out there. But I am willing to change my view on that. Maybe he will be the greatest coach of all the names listed.

I don't know much about him but I'd imagine the case would revolve around the Arians system being the best offensive system for Justin Fields talent to thrive in.

Seems like a similar case that got us Nagy.

I don't think so. Nagy's offense wasn't tailored to Mitch's strengths whatsoever (or to any QB's strengths).

Besides, you can easily pick apart the resume of any candidate the Bears are going to interview. Half the board moronically thinks Matt LeFleur still sucks even after he's proven pretty thoroughly he's a huge upgrade over the previous guy.

You're not getting Belichick, Payton, Reid, McVay, Tomlin, Harbaugh. Might as well just hope they go with a guy who's been around successful offenses and not some Leslie Frazier type.

I get that and I am in no way interested in Frazier. But wasn't Nagy thought to be this great offensive mind that has been around successful offenses and could revamp the Bears offense and develop a young QB? I am tired of that idea that you gotta find the next great offensive mind to be the HC. I want a guy who is a leader and can run the team. If he is great at offense that is wonderful. If he is great at defense that is wonderful. But I want a leader. I dont care if he was a OC, DC, Special teams or college coach. Maybe Leftwich is that guy, but it just feels like he is the next flavor of the week that is thought to be great because he has been around a good offense. Arians and Brady are way more likely to be the reason their offense has been good compared to Leftwich.

Winston had 30 interceptions the year before Brady arrived. That's all time bad. He even had GREAT offensive weapons around him. I see nothing from the Arians system that tells me that Leftwich can turn Fields into a star. All I see is Tom Brady imposing his offense onto the Buccaneers, and them winning because of that.

The offense Brady ran in NE and TB couldn't have been more opposite. Brady is running Arians system (attacking downfield), he's not running Brady's system. Fields is good at throwing deep, seems like a natural fit.

Brady is literally running what he likes. Arians said that last year. It's why Gronk went from a blocking TE back to a receiving TE. Arians didn't care as long as they were winning.

Thinking back on it, if I were a Bears fan, I'd be wary of any involvement with Poulian and Dungy. The game has changed since they've been talking heads and I don't think they have. And I'd probably be focusing more on the GM search. Honestly though, I'd start a coaching search with the OC from Buffalo. And Louis Riddick as GM.

Cover 2 Tony probably isn't the best guy to get advice from. I hope that report was bullshit like many other things that have been reported.

Hood loves Riddick as a GM choice too. I don't really have an opinion about him. He recently criticized management AND he's a Nagy guy.

Brady's running Arians downfield passing attack. It's the same offense Jameis ran, same as the one Arians ran in AZ, but Brady is actually good.

Yep. No disrespect to Leftwich but if you want to hire the Tampa OC then you hire Brady.

Arians was a great early OC for some guy named Roethisberger.

I'm intrigued by Roman. Not sure if he can manage a lockeroom though. I like how he's tailored the playbook to accentuate his QBs' (plural) strengths.

Both Polian and Dungy strike me as overrated and long beyond relevance.

Rifling through the old man Rolodex never seems to pay off.

Early returns on the Sean McVay coaching tree seem surprisingly good. Just grab whichever of his friends he spoke with last and off you go.

I've just resigned myself to know that it won't matter. The Bears will be the Bears and make a disaster out of this.
