Obama gets along with Springsteen because he's used to some guy from outside of Philly who tells meandering stories about people with names like "Bad News Bobby and the Pontiac Kid"

I’m unimpressed thus far.

They’ve been talking about this for a week.

I remember when I was a kid that I’d wake up and look outside -oh, it snowed last night.

It wasn’t dominating the news for 6 days.

We live in Illinois.

Maybe 4-5 inches in Kenosha max. What a let down. As I always say, if I had it to do over again I’d go back and be a meteorologist.

Agree but this storm was odd because it snowed for like 12 straight hours. Normally when that happens we get a ton of snow.

I'd like to know if anyone got the "up to 9 inches" they warned about. I'm in the area they said would get it the worst, and I think I'm at 2-3" tops.

I’d say 3-4” total in Gurnee

More came down as light precip then expected which made the totals off.

It didn't exceed 9" so I think the answer is everyone.

Somewhere between zero inch here and a foot. Blows so much out here who knows. Looks like its going to be a fun two weeks of watering livestock. Not terrible but the water tanks will be mostly ice soon.

One of the security guards at work showed me the picture of his deck, 21 inches of fresh powder Thursday into Friday. One of the Chemistry techs estimated three feet a dozen miles east of the other guy.

I ran out of ground feed for the cows yesterday, and with the rain right now, not gonna go get wet grinding more tonight. They can survive on tons of hay, I'll make it up to them somehow! Maybe some heads of lettuce, or bag of sugar.

I have a cement ramp out of one the barns. Sober squirrel did not bounce well and the impact hurt but I did get back up with little more than my pride bruised. I hate ice.

Never actually tried a bag of sugar, but we mix dried molasses and salts in with the ground corn. I have used liquid molasses to pour over some low-quality hay, to make it more attractive to the cattle. That failed, in my opinion.

Also, we place salt lick blocks available at all times for the animals. I was trying to think of some special treat like carrots or sugar cubes are for horses.

The neighbor, now staying at a rehabilitation facility, had probably 100 pound of bagged sugar in his open garden shed, which the raccoons have raided petty hard. I may see if there is one left enraptured, and find out if the cattle like it.

What a wild commute. Waze told me to take the Ryan and LSD to get north. No problems on 57 or the Ryan. LSD was basically fine. North, Belmont, Wilson....60 MPH on pavement. Get up to Bryn Mawr and BAM, it was like a blizzard.

Saw Chicagoland was getting hit pretty decent with that system off the lake. Nothing at all over the cheddar curtain here. I guess there is a big storm that we will be seeing next week
Wed or Thursday but at this point they aren't sure if it is going to be rain or more than a foot of snow. Stay tuned. We've been pretty lucky this year as far as missing relatively big snow.

Yeah, bright and sunny right now but the weather folks are talking about middle of next week but seem to be leaning rain vs snow. Guess there is a big cold dome shortly after it. Who knows. We are mostly bare ground here now except where it drifted. Id prefer not rain as I don't want to deal with it. My brother keeps sending me updates about the weather they are expecting in Boston area. Think the latest I saw was up to 24 inches.Good times.

Dairy cattle? Feeder beef you wanna hit with more ground grains and corn and top it off with a protein shake with less hay. Difficult to feed corn to cattle right now, with corn being at its best price since the hay days of ethanol

I've lanced a cyst, yes but nothing the size of the ones I've seen on line. Just cut low so it drains well.

I live on a minor arterial street and watched/heard many salt trucks out since early yesterday evening. But I don't think that we got a killer amount of snow out south. Even by the lake.

Dunno, I've been stuck at home because I had a basement flood AND my furnace go out two days ago. I'm just hoping for a slow bit of warming as it seems that the sewer problem is on the city side. Please, not more snow and no more heavy vehicles on my boulevard.
