There’s a lot of revisionist history going on here with both the fucking reporters in that press conference and on this board. Was anybody against the Matt Nagy hire? Did it not seem like they got the hire right? That he was well-respected he came from a good coaching tree , that the people around the league thought he was ready to be a head coach?

I think a few people on here questioned Nagy not really doing anything in Kansas City. He was hired for his playcalling but he barely called plays and Reid may have taken back over for the playoffs anyways. He also never had worked for anyone but Reid.

Yep. Not saying anyone called him being a failure but he certainly wasn't the home run candidate. It wasn't clear what kind of play calling he had done and it seemed like he was hired because he's a Reid guy and not because of his own accomplishments. It'd be like hiring Byron Leftwich this time around. After four years it's clear he had no system or even if he did no capacity to customize his system to the capabilities of the roster.

Aren't we getting a little carried away here? I know there's an element of people working out frustrations in these posts and just having some fun at George's expense, but good God, it could have been a lot worse. Nagy could still be here, Pace could still be here, they could be trying to do all of this themselves, or they could be using outside help without legitimate NFL credentials.

Yes, it's a similar process to the one they used last time, but at some point some non football person in the organization is going to have to hire a football person. I don't think it matters too much if that initial football person that gets hired is a president of football operations or a general manager. Winning or losing a press conference also doesn't equate to winning or losing any games.

I'll reserve my disdain until I see who they hire.
