It's a problem because his credibility matters for his current and future prospects. If he wants to get deeper into media stuff or get into a front office then I'm sure this thing will annoy him.

Olin has been out of the league for how long ? Its amazing some accomplished football team hasnt snapped up the fertile mind of Olin Kreutz by now and benefitted from his heretofore untapped genius.

What is George qualified to do--outside of running a historic football franchise into the ground?

The Bears haven't won a conference championship in 18 years either. Keep carrying water for the McCaskey's though, Crest.

Oh yeah, I forgot: George excels at making an ass of himself during press conferences, too!

What is the average salary of a low level assistant? $30k?

Kreutz doesn't want to move. That leaves only one NFL spot.

I would be Fitzgerald would be happy to have him at Northwestern.

I think he wants to be there for every moment of his kids lives until they go to college

I think you're confusing a consultancy with a job. This appeared to be a consultancy. If Olin wanted a job, and if the Bears wanted to give him one, he probably would have worked under Harry for, according to this, low six figures.

He would be under the assistant's assistant though. The pool of money for low level assistants is less than minimum wage when you consider hours worked. That's why guys like Belichick give them bonuses. You take that job when you are trying to break into coaching.

I bet he wouldn't want him at NU.

Kurt Anderson was name the program's offensive line coach on Jan. 14, 2019, after serving the 2018 season as a quality control analyst for the Wildcats. During his time at Northwestern, Anderson has played a role in the development of Jared Thomas who earned honorable mention All-Big Ten in 2019.

This thing with Olin is a prefect example of the differences in the Score now versus 15 years ago. 15 years ago Boers and Bernstein had nothing good to say about Olin and had a laugh at his expense when he flamed out in New Orleans. 2007 Dan Bernstein would have said $15 per hour for Olin is $10 per hour too much.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olin_Kreutz

On August 5, 2011, Kreutz signed with the New Orleans Saints for a one-year $2 million contract with an additional $2 million in incentives. Kreutz played in four of the Saints' first six games, missing the other two with a knee injury. He then decided to quit the team, saying that he had lost his "passion" for the game;[11] the Saints were reportedly planning to move him to the "left team" list.[12] In an interview, Kreutz cited Offensive Line coach Aaron Kromer’s incessant castigation as the catalyst for his exit. A confrontation with Kromer resulted in Kreutz inadvertently throwing QB Drew Brees against a wall. After the incident, Kreutz stated, “it was time for me to go.”[13] He was waived after leaving the squad on October 22.

That is why the whole kreutz story is based on? Is there more than was in that one-minute clip? I thought McCaskey put the blowtorch to him or something. Someone asked him about kreutz’s comments and he tiptoed around answering it. Where is the part that everyone is all  about?

Integrity? Olin is a class act.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/news/story?id=2226518

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The FBI is opening an internal
investigation into the fight between Chicago Bears offensive
linemen Olin Kreutz and Fred Miller at its shooting range in the
Chicago area, Special Agent Richard Kolko said Wednesday.

Miller, who initially said the injury occurred in a fall at
home, needed surgery after Kreutz broke his jaw in the altercation
last week.

Wasn't Olin extremely popular with and respected by his teammates (other than Fred Miller, of course)? Urlacher certainly felt strongly about him, as did a bunch of other prominent players on some pretty good teams.

I think most NFL guys would go to war with a guy like Olin.

That doesn't make him a coach however.

Fred Miller was kind enough to apologize for putting his jaw in front of the weight. I'm not sure if players really loved him or feared an ass whooping.

I'll take Hiestand's opinion of Olin's coaching potential over that of Pace or McCaskey.

Today was a disaster on several levels. Not worth going after an angry former player with a platform, but I don't doubt that Olin is a pain in the ass who the owners didn't want around.

Ya know what, fuck Olin Krutz.

He was offered 15 bucks an hour to do a pointless job. A stupid consultant in training camp. Quite frankly, that's what the job is worth.

THEY HAVE AN OFFENSIVE LINE COACH.

If you want that job, apply for it.

Just be the dumb ass that yells and bitches on the radio. The know it all that can fix everything. Just be that big tough guy. People love that shit. I don't.

Hey Olin, Geogre McCaskey thinks you're an asshole. You know why? Cuz you are an asshole. You were the one, hopped up on steroids, that bashed a bar bell on another player an a shooting range. Or something like that.

You were a good center. Got paid for it. Good for you. But you're a dumb ass.

Olin made tens of millions of dollars as a player so whether it was $15/hr or $30K should not have really mattered to him. Do you want the experience and entry on your resume or not?

There are plenty of psychos stalking the sidelines of football teams so Olin's temperament wouldn't concern me. You'd have to reign him in.

None of this really matters. It was just undignified and inappropriate for George to address it the way he did. He was asked the question and could have simply answered that he disputes some of the story.

Remember, George was a TV reporter so presumably he should be the best PR person in the building.
