Kmet was a 2nd round pick. My expectations were Kelce (3rd rounder) or Ertz (2nd rounder). Perhaps my expectations were too high.

Well, you can correct that in free agency this year with Evan Engram, David Njoku or OJ Howard, all who were taken in the first round.

And as I pointed out Kmet had three catches of 10+ yards against Minnesota on MNF, yet all were on 3rd & long and none of them were even close to a first down. A good chunk of his '12th place' receiving yards were acquired in similar garbage situations. He's 16th in YPC and YPG, and only Jacksonville's starting TE failed to catch a TD this year along with him.

Maybe a new coach does more with Kmet, but the eye test and some of the rankings above say he is below average.

NYG had a first round pick as their TE. Browns had BOTH a first rounder AND a highly paid FA. Detroit had a first rounder as well.

I’d consider giving some leeway for Kmet in the RZ with Graham taking targets except (as much as I think Graham’s salary was wasted) he couldn’t make the catches Graham did. Now they wouldn’t run the same plays for him, but you can point to something Graham definitely does well that gets them TD’s while not being able to point to anything Kmet can do to get the same results yet.

Honestly I wouldn't be blasting anyone on offense aside from Allen Robinson. The team rarely seemed to commit to a coordinated game plan befitting the piss poor coaching. He's certainly better than the obvious bust that was Adam Shaheen (?).

The coaching was bad and the offensive line play was bad. That most certainly gives us the possibility the WR and TE were better than the showed, but if they were A LOT better, they would have elevated the bad coaching and line play.

I just don't see it. We can go back to Greg Olson as a Tight End. He played on some bad teams but we knew the guy could get open and catch. He couldn't block for shit, but we saw how good of a receiving tight end he was on shit teams.
