Pitt seems to be always stacked on offense.

Antonio Brown
Dionte Johnson
Pat Freirwhatever
Mike Wallace
Emmanuel Sanders
Claypool
JuJu
Harris
LeVeon Bell (my favorite)
Heath Miller

And probably a bunch of o-line people

Daboll or Flores are my top 2 choices.

I've done a deep dive on Flores for some reason. Apparently he has trouble making connections with both players and coaches. People have expressed concerns about his ability to convince solid offense guys to work with him and for him given his personality issues. He churned through several coaches on offense in Miami and never created an identity on that side of the ball. It honestly sounded like Lovie's weaknesses (good on defense clueless on offense) all over again except Flores has the added disadvantage of being hard to work with and for.

I haven't done a deep dive, but this was my conclusion. It's possible that he could evolve, but Belichick guys are usually pretty stubborn.

I think we will run into something similar with any defensive trained head coach, which is why I am off the DC for HC.

I think Flores or Fangio would be an excellent get for DC with a new offensive trained HC

There seems to be quite a bit of Flores to the Texans chatter on the internet lately. If he was pushing for Watson last season it could make some sense if DW settles all of those suits.

I saw the same. Watson has a lot of work to do to get settling if he's going to play next season. I don't think Houston is going to quite get the haul they think they're going to get.

The chargers FO was the first rabbit hole I went down.
They're seasonal records over the last 15 years wasn't as good as I remember. Credit, though....they hit on Justin Herbert.

They were always knocking on the door of playoff appearances but seemed to lose games in heartbreaking fashion. I don't know if talent was an issue.

The Chargers have a serious ownership problem. They're basically homeless right now thanks to the head Spanos.

Not to mention...the Spanos family have no short of internal feuds happening.

BUT....they did draft a good QB

I don't see Flores as anything other then a head coach next season.

A few days into the Bears head coaching search, it might already be time to take a fan favorite off of the wishlist. According to multiple reports, Jim Harbaugh has been adding to his Wolverines staff at Michigan.
SOURCE: Notre Dame defensive line coach Mike Elston is expected to become the new D-Line coach at Michigan, his alma mater.

Ahem…Harry Hiestand is ND’s newly (re)minted OL coach. Pretty soon we’ll have Olin on staff for $16/hr.

Hiring a coach before hiring a GM would be a recipe for disaster.

This is the Bears friend.

There is no sequence that doesn’t end in disaster.

Jim Caldwell getting an interview. If hired, he's not going to excite the fan base, but he probably makes the Bears a playoff team...if they get the GM right.

Sure, he does. He's 66 and has been out of the league for three years. Playoffs for sure if he's brought in though.

Its not that hard to backdoor it into the playoffs with the 7th team now in play. Caldwell would be the perfect hire. He is happy to have a job, checks all the boxes and will get them in the playoffs next year riding the defense and then they will be shit for 2 years and he will get fired.

Even if successful, those guys won't be around long. They're usually just looking for a payday before retirement.

Caldwell being brought in for an interview. I could not be less interested in him as an HC. Former players in the past have talked about him being a grandpa like pushover. I honestly don’t know why they’d bring him in because I doubt they’ll hire him, so it seems like a waste of time the Bears can’t afford with such a large list as is. He’s a .500 type coach similar to Lovie where the game seems to have passed him by. Scratching my head on this one

Was thinking there had not been much smoke about Harbaugh lately, so he was probably out of the picture.

Listened to Wanny on with Parkins and Spiegel from this past week. He seemed to think Harbaugh could still have interest in coming back to the NFL, and that he knows Harbaugh has in the past had conversations with McCaskey and the Bears front office. He thought they had a pretty good relationship, and he also has past connections to Polian from days in Indy. Also he pointed out that Harbaugh does not have an agent so you likely won't hear any leaks or rumors about him like you do about other candidates.

Then read this

Quote:
Mike Florio of NBC Sports provided an interesting update--

AS A SOURCE WITH KNOWLEDGE OF THE SITUATION EXPLAINS IT TO PFT, HARBAUGH IS WATCHING AND WAITING TO SEE WHETHER A TEAM WITH A REASONABLE OWNERSHIP AND GENERAL MANAGER SITUATION IS INTERESTED IN GIVING HIM AN OPPORTUNITY TO CONTINUE AN NFL CAREER THAT RESULTED, FROM 2011 THROUGH 2014, IN A RECORD OF 44-19-1 AND A SUPER BOWL BERTH. AT AGE 58, HARBAUGH WANTS TO GET BACK TO THE SUPER BOWL AND WIN IT…

…SOME THINK JIM HARBAUGH IS SIMPLY TRYING TO LEVERAGE MICHIGAN INTO PAYING HIM MORE. PER THE SOURCE, THAT’S NOT WHAT IT’S ABOUT (WHICH WILL OBVIOUSLY MAKE SOME SAY, “OF COURSE THAT’S WHAT IT’S ABOUT”). IT’S ABOUT UNFINISHED BUSINESS FROM NEARLY A DECADE AGO, WHEN HARBAUGH TOOK A 6-10 TEAM AND TURNED IT AROUND ALMOST IMMEDIATELY, WITHOUT THE BENEFIT OF AN OFFSEASON PROGRAM IN HIS FIRST YEAR, THANKS TO THE LOCKOUT.

THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN BOARD OF REGENTS HAS UNANIMOUSLY FIRED SCHOOL PRESIDENT MARK SCHLISSEL FOR CAUSE FOLLOWING AN INVESTIGATION INTO A RELATIONSHIP WITH A SUBORDINATE, THE BOARD ANNOUNCED SATURDAY EVENING.

IN A LETTER TO SCHLISSEL, THE BOARD SPELLED OUT ITS CONCERNS AND SAID HIS CONDUCT WAS “PARTICULARLY EGREGIOUS CONSIDERING YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF AND INVOLVEMENT IN ADDRESSING INCIDENTS OF HARASSMENT BY UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN PERSONNEL, AND YOUR DECLARED COMMITMENT TO WORK TO ‘FREE’ THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT OR OTHER IMPROPER CONDUCT.

GM?

No idea. I like the idea of Rick Smith - I thought he built a pretty good roster and then dialed back given the personal issues.

Coach? I want an offensive guy. Daboll. Moore (no chance). I don’t dislike a Flores but I don’t really want a defensive guy.

I’ve disliked harbaugh for a while for what I think are horrible personal flaws that’ll damn him no matter what, but I’ve been talked into him by some friends. So throw him on the list (assuming GM is kosher with him). I like Roman too but I’m not sure he’ll get a look.

It didn't take Jerry long to realize he hired a blowhard lush for a coach.

Jerry has some class. Let us not forget, even though apparently everyone has, that MM was pissed sideways and got thrown out of a middle school basketball game for berating the refs only a few months after being fired by the Packers.

I'm sure they did but you have to be pretty ripped to actually do that, do it in public and do it as an extremely recognizable figure. I wonder if he is skipping meetings in Dallas for his personal massages or hangover naps as they were known in GB.
