I think that knock on him is very telling.

I was told it was the ever oppressing "White Man" that keeps Bienamy from getting a job.

Is it me or are all these candidates pretty underwhelming?

I don't think the two are mutually exclusive.

You and the candidates are both underwhelming!

It just seems to be reality of the NFL recently. Has there been a year in the last few where there were exciting candidates. LaFluer wasn't really overwhelming and he appears to be doing a good job.

That's why they had to be all in on Harbaugh but even the Michigan football reporters are throwing out huge warnings that the Raiders are were he is going unless Michigan comes up with a massive offer for him to stay.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Raiders had an informal deal with him the day after Gruden was rightfully fired.

Not sure why you inserted "rightfully," but it's crazy to think how much the Raiders would be paying for the head coaching position with Harbaugh and whatever settlement Gruden gets.

I inserted it because it's true.

Gruden and the Raiders already settled it. I would guess he got $10-$20 million.

That would suck if true. Outside of $$$ the Raiders job is awful. Their drafts have been the worst in all of football.

I'm not saying it's not true (though I don't see it as much of a clear cut case); I was just wondering if you had a reason for including it since it didn't add anything to the point -- I thought maybe you were suggesting the Raiders wanted to get Harbaugh and were looking for a way to oust Gruden.

I included it because Gruden definitely deserved to be fired.

I'm not sure if the Raiders ownership has the balls to make that move today.

I have reservations about Daboll too, but he seems to have changed his coaching style quite a bit after earning a reputation as a dogmatic hardass earlier in his career.

He's now known as much more of a flexible, open minded coach who solicits input from his players and has built a unique offensive scheme around the strengths of his quarterback.

I very much like that kind of grounded, pragmatic approach to coaching and personnel management.

I like what I've seen from Daboll as well. He has really been flexible in his approach. It appears that he is getting the most out of their talent on offense. However, outside of Buffalo, he has essentially stayed connected in some way to Belichick. I've wondered if he is having success because he has evolved (unlike every other Belichick disciple) or if McDermott has kept him from going full Belichick.

Such a fine line. Nagy would probably still be here with a playoff appearance and especially if they had won one this year. I feel like the Bengals coach needed this year's run to keep his job. Zach Taylor is 16-32 after 3 seasons, that with 10 wins this season.

Offensively, they have all of the ingredients you need for sustained success. I wouldn't bet against Burrow in a couple of years if he's healthy.

Daboll is like 5'7 and fat. Will anyone take him seriously as a head coach?

Parcells wore what Uncle Terry called, "the biggest pair of pants I've ever seen", and he was a head coach, McCarthy, Reid, Weis, Patricia, and Rex Ryan all were north of four spins and they all got head coaching gigs.

I don't think his weight will prevent him from getting a job either.

This guy's team has played in the last two Super Bowls;

If he wins, nobody cares about a coach's height, weight, or looks except for a fucking genius like you.

Nobody respects any of those coaches outside of Reid.

Parcels is a HoF coach. Rex Ryan couldn't get feet out of his mouth but he was an average quarterback away from winning it all.

If true this makes me wonder if the Bears even tried to get Harbaugh. I know there’s connection to both teams but there’s no way with things being even money/contract wise (let’s pretend) that Harbaugh should choose the Raiders over the Bears. The Bears have got to be one of the very top most prestigious jobs in the NFL as long as the McCaskeys aren’t getting in the way.. which they could of course.. but still.. makes me wonder

I mean when you think about it the two most prestigious jobs in the NFL coaching world are Dallas and Chicago.. maybe the Giants and Steelers too. As John Madden once said ‘there’s nothing in the NFL like when the Bears are good’

You can throw some nice weather teams in vacation states in there like Miami and Tampa.. but they don’t have that NFL founding royalty vibe to them that a team like the Bears have

Daboll may already be out of reach for the Bears. Schoen is a finalist for the Giants' GM position, which he desperately wants--and he's very tight with Daboll.

Supposedly he's been a big part of Buffalo's drafts.

Nothing really stands out on offense outside of the drafting and development of Josh Allen. Even looking at his entire time in the league, I can't say he's been associated with anything that has been great.
